Not sure about the law abroad, but you have a ball and a glove in your van as well just in case you use it dont you ?

Looks like a good weekends entertainment going on there for you.
I don't need a glove as it's just me and I can't bat and catch at the same time ....the ball well as luck would have it I was playing fetch with the dogs this morning and I lost it but as soon as I can get another I will :p

Perfect reasoning for not having a ball. A couple of photos of you with the dogs and a baseball bat and ball might be worthwhile having !!!! Just in case.(y)

Well that was frankly a night from hell :(

And it only got worse , as my last post stated I had to move as the idiots showed no sign of letting up and I was just getting angrier and angrier. I moved to a layby out of town but on the roadside ....while driving there it was quiet not another car on the road but as soon as I stopped and got in to bed it was like the m1 and impossible...so again I looked for somewhere not to far away but away from the roadside. The sat nav decided to take me up a very steep very narrow zigzag type road ...of course no where to turn around and I eventually got stuck. Pitch dark and totally exhausted and having to reverse down 3 or 4 miles of hairpin bends with low branches etc took me a good 45 mins ...sides of van scratched to hell with the trees I'm gonna have to t cut the bugger again

Eventually stopped at another main road layby as little choice around 06.10 ...got woken again at 8am ....left France got stuck in tailback and traffic jams all the way in to Italy....finally found a spot I could park Toby at 11am .

So sat in a large carpark outside sanremo at the minute....it's pouring with rain.

I'm fed up and exhausted and starting to ask myself why the hell am I doing this.
Now you know what truckers have to put up with everyday,,but a good trucker could sleep with any noise, no other option most of the time.BUSBY:LOL::LOL::D2

Hmm, thought you didn't like noisy vehicles revving and boy (of any age ) racers Tam.
I would think you have found yourself a horribly noisy weekend. The only difference being -you chose it- men are so irrational!

Really like that Saab. Didn’t they have some sort of flywheel (fluid flywheel?) that meant they freewheeled when you took your foot off the pedal? Somebody will know what Im on about?!
What a great car Saab made too. I had a Saab company car once,900i,really loved it,well put together and fun to drive. Shame they disappeared.

I'll have the U R Quattro please. And a Mk2 Escort.

Just stick 'em in your van and bring them back with you please Tam (y)

Weirdly - if you put the letters U R next to each other without a space, as they should be for the Audi, the forum corrects it to "your".

Yes,as gus-lopez said.
I’d forgotten about them being two stroke......... now I remember the blue smoke!
I’m no engineer,so surprised two stroke engines for cars weren’t developed......surely they are inherently more efficient.......half the movement to get to the pop!

I don't carry a baseball bat in the van but always have a torch beside the bed at night, just in case the battery goes flat and the lights don't work.

More powerful for a given size but less fuel-efficient. Pollution was the issue & is why they're no longer allowed in sizes above 50cc (I think that's the limit) for road vehicles. Not allowed for racing for the same reason. There have been a few companies developing them to overcome inefficiency & pollution problems (Ford of all people is one!) but it has probably come too late.

nothing to do with this thread but has anyone ever looked at the history of the commer two stroke diesel, very interesting they had the makings of a world beating engine but then gm , i think it was , bought the firm and scrapped every bit of the developement just because they didnt want to damage their own engine sales, google it if you are interested.

I have done so in the past. The history and design of two-stroke Diesels is a whole different discussion. The Napier Deltic is one excellent example of a successful two stroke Diesel engine.
