Well it's just an idea at the minute as I have to return to work of some sorts after this trip.

And as know live in a van with 2 dogs I've either got to find some type of work I can take them with me or something where I'm near them at least.

Just my five penneth Tam and I have no solutions.
I doubt working as a campsite warden is terribly well paid. I understand in the short term that one could live cheaply and be with the dogs, that may be a very short term solution but I fear could also be a very limiting one.
I have deleted the rest of this, so I am trying to say briefly don't let your attitude /devotion to the dogs condemn you to a life of penury.

From what I've seen the average is around £8 per hour and comes with a pitch with hook up etc.
That's enough to live on

I have always told my sons it's not the best paid job you should look for.....the best job is the one you want .....and you get paid for(y)

But it's not building anything for your future, old age or infirmity.
No but I have the proceeds from my house sale in the bank. I need a job so I'm not spending that :)

Hi Tam. What SIM do you use for data when away. We are about a month into a 3 month trip and expect our data to be turned off after 3 months by which time we will be in France. Do you buy local?

So I drove along to imperia this morning parked by the harbour here which is functional.

And then we walked along to the town and marina. It looks nicer from a distance than up close lol. Some huge yachts in the marina mostly from George town but a few from London there too..

I hope young Milo doesn't wolf whistle
Think that's more likely to be the owner :)
I have to say they are both a big hit with the Italians can't walk 10 feet and they are being fussed over. Milo needs to stop growling at them though lol.

Learning Italian on duolingo:p

Thanks Tam. We have a phone on EE and a vodaphone sim in a mifi box, both on contract. Have had text from them when we got to France reminding me that their fair use policy says we can only use abroad for 2 months in any 4. You have been traveling for longer than 2 months though haven’t you? Will just have to wait and see I guess.

I have unlimited use in any European country but it was a specific plan for European use.

Decided to head inland for a bit and a change of scenery so I'm in a little town called bardineto. I had stopped initially in another wee coast town called albenga but it wasn't very nice so thought we would come in to the hills for a few days. The first couple of pics are from albenga and the rest from the drive up here. Just going to have a sandwich for lunch then a wee walk around this town.

Not so many scooters in land, we have fond memories of the coast road, stop at the traffic lights, 20 or 30 scooters surround you, lights are back red again by the time they have gone ;) then another lot come. Bob.

Aye and the car drivers pay zero attention to speed limits either. In the 30 zones I have them right on my ass or trying to overtake all the time.

Well I moved on this morning around 11.30 ...late for me but I got stuck behind the other 2 vans that were there to use the services.
The first one being 2 guys around 30 ish in a burstner, never seen so much palava to empty a cassette and to fill water ...took them over 30 minutes and then 1 was out directing the other one to reverse out the aire ....miles of room around them but what a fiasco.
Then there was an old guy on his own who practically polished his cassette after emptying and then took 5 attempts at positioning his grey pipe over the drain ....another 5 minutes to wind his hose up after giving it a good dry down with a towel.

So after nearly an hour seething to empty my cassette we left and drove further inland to a city called Alba ....well being a Scot it would have felt wrong not too.

But

It was a waste of time really lol...the supposedly gothic cathedral looks like methil parish church ( a wee shitey town on east coast of Scotland) and apart from that there's not really to see.
I'm parked in a car park near the town centre and close to the ferrero factory which makes ferrero roche and nutella etc so the only good point is it smells of chocolate here.

There's a Romanian traveller set himself up in style in the carpark in this massive pik3y palace and has even plumbed himself in to the drains lol.

But anyway up till now I'm a little confused with Italy, I thought the Italians were full of style and culture but their buildings seem really dull .....did all design and architecture die with the Romans? Even the roads are bloody terrible ...it just shows you standards have slipped since old ceaser was in charge

Or am I just in the wrong areas again.

I managed to get diesel for €1.44 a litre which is the cheapest I've seen it here so far and I got lpg for €0.59 a litre so I filled up with both.

I was considering heading to asti next but I'm unsure ....even the countryside is a little dull

I mean apart from the language it's hard to tell your in Italy really. .the scenery isn't any different from the UK or France.

I guess thats why Spain is so different.

I mean it's green and I know obviously we are out of season which is also weird as it's more like autumn than nearly spring here the ground is still covered in brown leaves which we normally get in september.

I could do with a few folk with experience of Italy giving me a few pointers.
