Rally Camping Alegria Del Mar, Benicarlo. April 2020

We had a wonderful rally here in 2016 and 2017 and it is a very friendly, English run site whose owners can’t do enough for their customers. There is a great restaurant and bar with different activities almost every day. Paella on Wednesday and Fish and Chips on Friday were our favourite, with Sunday lunch a close third. There is a shop on site and a pool.

The site is about a kilometre from the town of Benicarlo along a promenade in front of the sea. There is a beautiful Marina with some excellent, very reasonable restaurants and the town is typically Spanish with an excellent Market, Mercadonna, Lidl and loads of shops and restaurants. Peniscola is the next town and can be reached by the promenade.

Dogs are allowed, with no additional charge, and there is a good dog walk outside the back gate straight onto the beach, which also allows dogs.

English satellite tv is available on each pitch, Satellite t.v is 20€ per connection.
Internet for 1 week is 10€, 2 weeks 15€, 3 weeks 20€...
6 amp electric is included in the price if anybody needs 10amp they can pay 1.70€ extra per night.

There are 15 pitches available, if it was The price 17,00€ per night. Includes 2 people, camping-car or car caravan and a 6amp electric.

If you are thinking the price would be 18,00€ per night but you would have to arrive and pay for the 12/14 nights on arrival with no refund if leaving before.... as it is Easter Week. Price includes 2 people, 1 camping car and a 6amp electric. (There would be availability for 10 pitches).

If you are thinking of all the month of April let me know and I will get a price from the site.

I know some Funsters are on their way home from Benidorm and have asked if they could ‘pop in’. Lisa confirms - Yes, if they have availability... however they would have to pay what ever the cost of the camping is at that moment. Those units that are just passing through may not be with the rest of the rally...”

These are just a few of the photos of the site, I’m sure Funsters have more. the aerial photo shows the 2015 rally, we were the first to use this new section of the site. Now the bushes have grown it is really lovely, and shows how large the pitches are.

For anyone else reading the rear gate for cycles opens up a cyclepath all the way to Peniscola on an almost flat ride. Great venue too.

We have just booked ourselves in for Christmas and New Year. After playing 'Calpe sardines' for the past week and fed up with it.

We’d definitely like to come and stay on our way back from Morocco. Unsure of dates yet, we need to get home from India and Maldives this week and consult with our kids. Son and daughters birthday both on the 10th April so it will depend if we have to be home for it or if they fly over and meet us somewhere for the weekend. Looks a great site and potentially lovely funsters in attendance too.

I have just posted the following on rally chat

We will be there from the 6th March through to the end of April.

Funsters can arrive, if there is availability, anytime during March but we might not be placed together.

During the rally there will be 10 - 15 pitches. During the Easter week there are only 10 places available.

Perhaps the last week in March and the first week in April would have been a better time for the rally and then Funsters can then stay for Easter if they wish, at rally prices. I will contact Lisa and see what she thinks and get back to you.

After the rally there will be availability.

Lisa and the family have made it clear that she will do all she can to accommodate us and those who went on the rallies during 2016 and 2017 (which were first 2 weeks in March) will agree that we were all looked after very well.

Next time I talk to Lisa I will ask how she would prefer us to book the rally.

There may well be availability in other areas of the campsite.
