You can change your mind with a wrap, and they say it protects the paint.

Wrapping seems to last up to 5 years... What's would you want to achieve with the change in decoration?

Hi and welcome to the fun house. 🤪

Looking at your info you've got a 1993 Autotrail, if that's the one you're thinking of doing up I wouldn't go near wrapping as it would be quite difficult to do I suspect, as for painting, it really depends on what you want doing and how much needs 'repairing' etc beforehand.

I didn't notice that. I don't know what condition your MH is in, but wrapping is normally only as good as the underlying surface.

Oh crikey. I just googled that. If his has as many textures and ribs as the ones I saw I would recommend against wrapping.

I love wrapping and did my own diy job. I wouldn't want to attempt one of those.

I've wrapped many vehicles as a job and you don't want to go there with this van. To many ribs and the silicone bleed around windows and lockers would not suite vinyl adhesion.
The price of quality wrap vinyl as rocketed over the last year and a £1000 job in January 2020 would now be £1325.
A good coachworks would be the better option but it won't be cheap.

If there is a rust issue it still has to be dealt with, it won’t cover it up. Hgv that’s wrapped from new usually only has to last 3 to 5 years depending on the lease , and then it’s peeled off and sold as a plain motor.

In addition to the above. What type of respray are you wanting? A cheap blow over or a bare metal full strip and respray? There is a huge difference in cost.

Its an open ended question, depending n the design required any cost varies wildly.
Give us a quick idea of design if you can OP and we can give more specific advice.

I have the front of my car wrapped in clear you can not detect it but it was not cheap as it is classed as paint protection film.

Thanks for showing us that black vinyl Hymer. I’m not sure I like the mat vinyl, but I certainly liked the van.
Is there an advantage to covering in vinyl?
Probably for the same reason commercial users from Eddie Stobart on downwards do it, protection! When the wrap is removed the undersurface is as good as new, and the resulting increase in secondhand value probably goes a fair way to covering the cost of the wrap.

I tried wrapping some big Christmas presents 1 year and that cost a fortune in sellotape so I'm guessing wrapping a motorhome will be mega expensive and I also think its best to use that foil stuff cos normal wrapping paper will get all soggy this time of year

A sheet of clear PPF wrap for a bonnet costs about £50 to do it yourself. Paint finish needs to be perfect and free from waxes before you start
