Hi, simple?? question please. We have just taken ownership of our new van. Adria Twin PVC. We have now a TV as well, 19" Avtex. The van comes fitted with a proper TV holder on the wall behind the twin seats. My question is, can the TV be fixed to this & remain there during travel or is it best to keep it in a bag & just mount it when on site? Thanks

Put it up and see if it bounces about... on a short run...

Our`s did so we lift it off and put it on the bed till we reach destination...

Tried bungies.. but still wobbled and bounced..

Normally it should remain in position it can simply jump off the bracket if it’s connected correctly.

Oh, surprised by your experience as they are seriously locked in position.

Our`s has a sort of "U" shaped bracket that fixes to the back of tv and then slots onto the wall bracket..

So not a problem lifting it off..(y)

Getting there!
We leave ours on with a luggage strap round it to stop the bracket swinging out.

Going replace the bracket with a travel locking pin at some point.

We have a similar bracket to @Old mo’s and we take ours down and store in wardrobe.

We travel with ours in place. Never had a problem. I have put a couple of bits of neoprene on the one edge to stop it rubbing against the woodwork.

On our very first trip out in the van the TV mount unlocked on a rough bit of road, the TV swung around and punched a hole in one of the locker doors. It wasn't possible to easily take it off so I secured it with a bungee until I eventually bought a much better sliding bracket which allows us to view the box anywhere in the van.

That was 10 years ago - must get round to fixing that locker door...................!

Put it between the steering wheel and the dash, so you can watch as you drive :)

3 different motor homes since 2009 and 3 different Avtex TVs, always left on the brackets while travelling and no issues.

.
We have a 2017 Twin and I wouldn't travel with the TV on the wall. In my view the wall isn't strong enough to take the weight of a TV bouncing around while travelling.

Hi.
Ours is mounted on a VERY strong, multi position bracket, with a clip that secures it when pushed back......You MUST make sure that the TV is in a vertical position ( Not tilted up or down) to ensure it clips home properly. This holds the TV on speeds above UK limits and the landings that happen after being airborne plus going down the Piri-Piri knees mountains. Jobs a good 'un.

Full Time 2011-2013, now part timers!
In 8 years ( 3 of them full time) we have always left the tv where it is. Cue for it to fall off on our next trip!!

Well, Thanks for all your replies. Certainly mixed ideas so far. I think that firstly we need to see how the TV fits onto the supplied bracket and assess from there. Never had a bracket before just used to wrap the TV in a towel & put it on the bed. To be honest we don't use it a lot but good to have the option. I just thought that if the bracket was safe then that would free up a bit more space.

I've never even thought about taking the TV down. It would take about ½ hour and then another ½ hour to re-mount and I would have ½ doz cables flapping about. Sounds like a silly idea.

Since 2016, caravans before that, folding Caravan, tents before that
The lounge tv is on a fixed bracket so will not come off
The bedroom one is on a removable bracket - it slides don about 75 mm and clicks into place. In theory I pack it into its padded bag on the above-cab bed for travel, but have forgotten several times and it has not fallen off yet.
It is important to empty the Jacuzzi before travel though :D

Our TV is in a cabinet on a tilting swing out sliding bracket that locks back into the cabinet when not in use
to remove it and put it back every time it gets used would be a drag and we would need to find somewhere to store it aas with it in a padded bag it would not fit in the cabinet .
This is the bracket a Project 2000
