I know we've probably been round this before, but does anyone have any experience of using cassette toilet biodegradeable liners (E.G. 'Happy Bowl') ?
Failing that as these seem unobtainable now, is it any good putting toilet paper in the bowl first prior to number twoing, if you see what I mean ?
Off next month sometime and am wary of toilet blocks however they may be set up, so can foresee greater use in house.

Yep we all love a toilet thread.

What's the point of putting a liner in the bowel, OK if you are going to put in the waste bin after use otherwise you are just going to fill up the loo quicker.
Bet you don't use them at home so why would you want to in the van.

Ah! Lovely a new bog thread I’ve only just dried my eyes from the last one👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😂😂😂 you could put a cross of bog paper in the pan with a target on but unless you can get your head down there you won’t be able to see it 😂

The point is they very effectively protect the bowl from having to be cleaned big time. Even with an electric flush, it's far less effective as a household toilet flush. As for filling up the cassette more quickly, surprisingly enough that isn't the case, with bio they disintegrate very quickly to nothing and each liner is probably far less matter than one sheet of loo roll.

Appreciate this may seem a bit anorak, but we like them so much we make our own! If you open one out at the seam to use it as a template and buy the same thickness of tissue paper in 500mm x 750mm sheets. We buy 10 sheets and can get 4 liners from each sheet. Stanley blade through all 10 sheets = 40 liners. Prit stick the join an there you go.

We made 40 up while wilding a few weeks ago, it's been legal here for some time now..................................................................overnighting not making bowl liners!

'bowel' ? Not contemplating surgery.

Yes, use them all the time, unless I am sure that my aim with be good. I do not use them the way they say. I open the flap first then use liner, then flush. Works for me. Their suggestion of putting liner in first, then flushing and then opening the flap has led to some messy blowbacks, especially in warm weather.

Better than nothing but not as good as Happy Bowl

Yes! A cross made of two strips toilet paper works well. I also use a spray bottle of diluted pink and, if necessary, a dedicated washing up brush.

Two sheets over the open trap and no dramas. Flush and possible bog brush if neessary. 1/4 inch of water in bowl to seal it all after.

Do you want to buy some toilet roll?

Could spend your time away experimenting with a bit of paper or/and water etc in the bowl and adjust height and aim for best results , sorted 💩

Oh come on! happy bowl? total vanity waste of money

Wax the plastic and the shit doesn't stick. Very simple concept rather than dropping a wrapped up turd like a burrito in the cassette and potentially blocking it up

Do you line the bog at home before you take a dump? or just ensure the bowl is clean and shiny to keep it hygienic

Simply clean the cassette toilet and then seal the surface of the bowl with a nice coat of shiny car wax. Repeat every few months to prevent crap from clinging to any rough surface

Happy Bowl, what an invention. Make something nobody needs then persuade people it is the best thing ever and what was missing from their life

It would have to be a very wet weekend and plenty of bran / curry etc. to make me want to experiment that much. 🙊💩🎯

Never apologise for starting a toilet thread. We all love them.
If your hose will reach, the shower head is a much more effective flusher than the actual flush. If you're a fettler you could even fit a dedicated one next to the loo only needs cold water.

...and then think about installing a bidet......!

We use them. Cassette toilets are very different to home toilets where you have no worries whatsoever about how much water you’ve got to flush the loo. Just take a look at the Bristol Poo chart and you will also see that ease of cleaning can be very variable. I also do the “make a cross” in the bowl with sheets of paper to conserve supplies sometimes.

I will admit that when I have to use the van toilet, I layer toilet paper in the bowl and when finished use the shower to flush it all away.

Yes it fills up quick but I can deal with emptying the cassette.
