This will curb any desire to hit the road south

Yes, I am and why wouldn't I still be thinking and planning ....? Plans change all the time when we are out in the motorhome ...

And there was an older thread with the same discussion, but that does have a cryptic title.

True or hoax

We usually get several RIP threads for the same dead person too 🤷‍♂️

Of course it only becomes expensive if you break the law or try and be creative with your interpretation - personally don't see the issue with heavy fines where that to be the case.

I would like to see the list of "reasonable excuses" for travel abroad.

How big are the loopholes?
Top of the list of "reasonable excuses" will be MP's on a "fact finding mission" accompanied by their assistant (who just happens to be their partner). Never sure why they need to go to top tourist destinations to discuss "poverty.

Next on the list will be to check on property that you own nearby, and can combine with your fact finding trip to prolong your stay.

For those who have just renewed their passport, and in line with the C&MC and C&CC threads, do you think we've got any chance of a free night's voucher or 3 months extension? :whistle2: :getmecoat:

In Dover and Folkstone they are selling off the rubber dingies that were confiscated or found abandoned on the local beaches. Soon get you to France when the weather gets better. If you get stopped halfway across you get a free lift back and put up in a hotel,a free holiday. But in the UK. (y) :imoutahere:

And with that paperwork, my work travel also needs L10 (i.e. Vice President) sign off: -
{who I work for} is asking employees to defer non-essential business travel. For international travel, seek L10/VP approval before booking travel. For domestic travel, each organization will determine required approval level. Review {who I work for}’s COVID-specific travel guidelines, traveler responsibilities, and resources to assess travel restrictions. Check location-specific COVID impact conditions, including quarantine requirements, on the International SOS (ISOS) portal or app. Proceeding with this booking implies that you acknowledge traveler responsibilities, and have attained required approval. For questions contact {travel bod}.
I have paid for overseas customer engagements starting late May
Wonder how that'll shake out.

I'm still going allowed to travel to our villa to prepare it for rental or sale and chat to the local estate agent to see how much its gone up in value .Only problem its in Turkey so will need to retire first haven't got enough holidays left as we want to drive down in the motorhome. If its good enough for Boris dad its good enough for us plebs as well.

Not a chance it will stop us planning or travelling if allowed.

Restrictions, including this new fine will be reviewed next month. If the govt's allows travel in May, then we will be heading across the channel, abiding by rules and restrictions that national govt's and we have put in place for our and others safe keeping.
