This is our view as we have our breakfast next to the Moho. And a lovely warm day forecast.

Mind you not for many of you funsters. Only 6ft between mohos (oh the danger). Wall to wall sunshine. Beach all of 10ft away. No Irish bar, all you can eat Chinese or wide screen TVs. People walking past smile and say bom dia. All sorts of languages spoken.

I am just off to dip my toes in the lagoon.

If you're going south the old sports ground at Albufera is now only €6 a night including 6a EHU

We didn't when we first arrived late afternoon Sunday. But by the evening most of the Portuguese had lefy for home, so moved over. It was very much busier the weekend than the same time a couple of years ago. Full with over 40 mohos in the overflow area we were told.

Unfortunately we are heading north towards home.

I'm sure @peterc10 won't mind me telling you, it's Foz do Arelho on the west coast , the region of obidos.I think I'm right in saying its the largest natural lagoon in western Europe. We were there a month ago, took our inflatable canoe out into the lagoon and sourced our own mussells.Bloody gorgeous

Hi Robert. As others have already guessed it is indeed Foz de Arelho, CC10004. 4€ without EHU or 6€ with.

For all those feeling jealous, you will be glad to hear that the wind got up during the day and the evening was quite cold. Looks cooler but less windy this morning and we will probably suffer another night here.

We stayed here last year. Foz do Aurelio. Found it on search for sites and a t 4€ a night (6€ with leccy) could be our favourite site for relaxing. Has the fish lady be round yet ? We bought some fab sardines of her.
Oblidos around the lagoon is a must visit walled town with a free aire just a 10 minute walk away.

Don't think so. You may not get a place on the front, but there are plenty behind available. It gets very busy weekends with Portuguese mohos

Sorry JJ likely heading to Coimbra then Porto after foz but no pies. Never thought to bring any as the plan was always to go from Lisbon down to the Algarve, but wifey decided yesterday on Porto.

JJ, just pop into Foz de Arelho. The little supermarket in the centre of the village were selling your FB pies. Mind you they only had 8 available.

From Foz, a must place to visit is Fatima, absolutely mind blowing place of pilgrimage. A free aire but always busy at weekends but lots of parking spaces, worth a visit, not far from Foz, obidos is also another must place to see.
