For those of you who like prison camps there is an ACSI site on top of the ramparts with stunning views but for us sensible people a couple of hundred yards away there is a free Aire with free servicing, what more could you want.

The Aires at Langres seem to move about a bit. Where is it now Lenny.

BTW I can't agree with your description of the little Municipal site with the views as a prison camp. In reality it is more like an Aire and cheaper than some Aires I have seen.
Did have wander through it, was quite pleasant we just don't like sites.
The Aire is about 200yds south of the site just the other side of the ring road behind some offices, co-ordents in Camper Contact are correct.

Used to be in the car park close to the municipal site. When we were there last spring the one you are now in had taken over but nobody was using it. @Robert Clark used one a bit farther from the town when he was last there I think.

We still like the municipal site, very close to town, good views, and cheap.

As Dijon was qiute close decided to have a look not normally a fan of bigger towns when on Holiday. Dijon old town turned out to be a little gem.
Parked up at the Aire outside the camp site a bit pricey €11.70 but includes EHU & services good wifi and you can use the sites facilities if you wish, we prefer our own.

I've been cruel to my wallet again we had a coffee in one of the main squares ouch!

Followed the street markers around all the main sites then from the other side off town used the free electric suttle bus to get back across the old town.

Been out in the wilds for a couple of days no internet or phone.

After Dijon headed down to Beaune, interesting seeing the grape harvest in full swing.
Beaune not as interesting as Dijon people come here mostly for the wine caves.

Car park where the aire is was full of old British bangers over a hundred of them, during the day we had to park in the bus bays moved ouver to the car park in the evening.
Space for 5 Camping Cars, only 42 there on Friday night.

Evening entertainment was watching an old Chasson reverse into a brand new N&B ClouLiner (Iratted on him).

Great pictures. I visited Dijon in the seventies with Mrs DBK, before she acquired the "Mrs" title. We only went there because the original plan of staying in Paris proved too damaging to my wallet. But I remember it being a nice place with more to see than shops selling mustard - although there were a lot of those.

Had enough of towns for a while had to find so peace and quiet headed off to the Parc Naturel Régional du Morvan found a nice quiet spot at the top of Lac de Chamboux, one other van there Saturday, all on our own Sunday beautiful.

Sunday had a nice walk around the lake and in the woods and another small lake only a bit over 6.5 miles but very pleasant.

Spot the blot on the landscape (could be a Hymer) perhaps Motorhomes should only be made in green or brown.

How's the weather been?
Bl**dy freezing, our first week was OK even had a day at 30 , downhill since then most days 18, Sunday in the hills only reached 15. It has been warm in the sun but out of it cold, managed to miss the rain has only fallen at night.
Never ever known France so cold in September.

Spent last night on the free municipal Aire at Treigny, then this morning went on to Guedelon.
Guedelon is a castle in the making. Started in 1996 they are building a castle by traditional methods, all the stone is quarried on site and cut by hand, clay tiles made on site by hand, timber from local woods a very interesting project.

Tonight just a few km up the road at Bonny-sur-Loire another free Aire. The aire only has 3 nicely hedged spaces but they are very short less than 6m. So we are parked on the grass by a sign that says wild camping prohibited but hay ho it's France it's out of season, a few other vans here as well.

Will you be heading home via Belgium to get a refund on that awning ?

What a waste of money that's been

Brake Test, fecking French drivers.

Second close shave in 4 days. Not obvious from the video, the lorry came round the bend out of control with the trailer swaying all over the place (tail wagging the dog). Trailer must have missed us by less than a foot or two, it was a logging lorry the noise is all the wood chippings flying off hitting out van can't see any damage.

That's pretty scary
Not sure my language would have been suitable for broadcast.

Not happy, ferry home on Friday. My suggestion that I drop the boss off at an airport and catch up with her at Christmas didn't go down too well.:cry::cry:

On our way back to Dieppe now, stopped for lunch at Germigny-des-Pres to have a look at what is reputed to be one of France's oldest churches. Walking up the road I thought that looks familiar, been there done that but being a kind soul I took some photos for you loverly Funsters.

Tonight at the car park just down the road from the camp site in Chartres, hissing down so won't be walking into town.

Granddaughter arrived last night and I'm in the bad books as we are still in France. Trust a woman to arrive over a week early.

Congratulations to you both !
Have a safe journey back
