Found my sink leaking in the cabinet.
I'm going try to repair with Araldite
I can't understand how this crack has happened.

Been away 2weeks ago. We HAVE had great weather. And it was not leaking then now in Lincolnshire. And found it today. THANKS for asking

It looks like the pipe threaded in to it has split it. If the thread was a taper one & it was done up too much it would have caused it.Parallel with too much tape is another possibility

Never had much success using Araldite to repair anything where water is concerned, always ends up leaking.
Maybe something from Screwfix for plumbing repairs might be more permanent.

If you're in Lincolnshire have a ride over to Brownhills and get one off the shelf from their parts dept, at the rear of the showroom. Bought the exact same one a few weeks back from them.

You might have got away with wrapping the main body with a water proof tape as a temporary measure but it looks as though the base has also split.

Replace it.

i would replace but if your intent on a repair use ct1 sets underwater

Agree, best bet is a new one. Temporary fix could be done with LSX - available from Screwfix or any plumber's merchant - will work better than an epoxy like Araldite.

lsx is only a sealer it has very little glue effect

Fatigue crack.
Put silicone sealer in the crack then a jubilee clip around the waste to pull the crack back together.
There isn't enough surface area for araldite alone and the different expansion rates between the plastic and araldite will cause it to fail when it gets hot and cold water running through it.

Must not be doing it right.

I once repaired a carburettor float bowl with araldite. A piece of aluminium bowl was missing and rebuilt it.... Never leaked petrol.

Likewise. I repaired a cracked main bearing housing on a Norton 500 single (ES2) with Araldite. Never caused any further problems. The 'Rapid' version is nowhere near as strong though.

most likely frost damage.. when you drain down for winter the trap should also be emptied.

You could try wrapping it with Self Amalgamating tape, I did a repair on my water carrier tap and that worked.

Buy a new one otherwise you will forever be looking under the sink for leaks.

Thank you all .I do Drain down on every trip. .? In case I don't get back to van . I have bought the Araldite will try this. Then order one from dealer. My van is a hobby .thanks
