Anyone had a hymer bed that locks in the high, (closed) position on the near side only and hangs a bit loose on the off side. Hymer B 584DL, drop down bed with extensions.

Should they latch on both sides or do they only lock on one side? In which case the off side is hanging a couple of inches too low.

I would be interested in any answers, I have the B680, same problems 🥴🤔

Should lock on both sides it locks with a small plastic pin 6/8mm dia only goes into the hole a few mm.
Have you got anything on the bed as it won't lock if at the front of the bed (not the front of the van).
If you take the curtain around the bed down you can see it.

ours has a stainless steel pin each side? They click a lot when driving 🤔

Hi Lenny. This is the van I collect on Friday. This was an observation I pointed out to the salesman to fix before collection. I'm just finding how it should be so that when I collect it I can't be fobbed off with "that's not a fault" sort of thing.

Good idea to plan for things to check before picking it up.
sound like it’s just not been stowed properly after somebody having bed down.

Neither me nor the salesman could get the rhs to click. Pushing, it went right up and the lhs clicked/locked but the last hung floppy.

I over-plan. Got a spreadsheet of items.s to do to ask to get to leave to check etc.
I'd welcome any suggestions what to really look for from people that know the van type.

Just had a look at mine it's zinc plated pin steel and it locates into a plastic block.
If you lift the mattress you can see the cables that operate it.

Check the door hinges for wear, if there are gaps in the knuckle and you can see the pin they are worn, they are plastic and not up to the job, they are £120 each. I'm in the process of getting some stainless steel ones made hopefully about £25 each.

Check draw & cupboard handles for the chrome bubbling.

Check all the taps work, the microswitches are prone to failing.

Check bodywork for corrosion, bottom corners of the drivers door, around fridge vents, water & mains inlets etc.

Check the tank housings, not much ground clearance easily damaged.

Check operation of driver's doorstep if it has one.

Thanks, my list's just got a bit longer.

Good idea to have spread sheet, because you think of these things but when you get they everything goes out of your head, well it does with my head😊

Can't remember whether I know the feeling.

Please tell me there is a . missing there ? £12.0 for a plastic hinge seems steep to me even at Hymer prices .
Lying down in a darkened room clutching my purse.......

My Belgium dealer was a bit cheaper €95, it's a plastic hinge that can't cost more than a few Euro to make.
