I just though I would bore you all with another one of my trips.

Crossed the channel yesterday evening parked up at Citie Europe at the mo.

Decided to pay another visit to Caravan Salon this year, would break my heart & wallet to pay for a crossing for few days.
So we are having 2½ weeks (all the boss would allow). Then back home for 1½ weeks then somewhere warm for 6 weeks.

No definite plans but thinking of the Mosel area for a couple of weeks then meeting up with my mate JonP before heading to Dusseldorf.

Hi Lenny

About time we bumped into each other? What day are you getting to the salon camping? assuming you are staying there of course.

Arriving Sunday after 4. I think a few Funsters string then perhaps we could organise a get together in the marquee Sun evening. Get Jim in there with a few flags.

Had a nice chat with Zigisla this morning.

Then a bit of a lazy frustrating day. Wanted to find out if Campirama had a part for me, forgot they were closed Monday mornings so couldn't ring them until after 2pm.

Got dragged into Citie Europe Mr. Wallet was relieved to escape only €17 lighter.

Spent over two hours trying to top up my Vodafone data sim aaarrrr.

Campirama had the part so off to Belgium.

Good job I got the Vodafone SIM sorted, data on phone useless here but mifi with rooftop aerial pulling in full 4g.

Now at Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917, came across the site on my solo trip in May but didn't have time to explore.
500,000 soldiers killed here in 1917. Will be exploring in the morning.

Official Motorhome spaces a bit small.

If you thought English roads were rough Belgium roads will be a whole new experience. :D
Used them yesterday getting to Boussois in France ? hence my earlier comment on sat nav??. Now off to Nisramont.

The Museum is in the Chateau and grounds, didn't take many photos. Spent nearly 3 hours wandering around.

One thing I noticed the headstones were a mix some concrete some marble, I was wondering why.
[/QUOTE]

The concrete ones are probably the original portland stone, the marble looking ones are a limestone called botticini from italy and are replacments for originals that cant be repaired

If you go anywhere near arras the CWGC center is worth a visit as it shows the amazing work they do caring for all the war graves around the world and how they go about it

If you get chance, Sanctuary Woods, Hill 60 and the German cemetery at Langemark are all worth visiting if you’re in the area.
Enjoy your travels

One small problem we broke down. Anyone who has driven in Belgium will know their roads make ours seem like billiard tables, we went down one today that was probably 10 times worse than any Belgium road I've driven down before. The air suspension was struggling to keep the van level and a couple of km later when we were going around a downhill bend to the Aire the van lurched to the right. When we parked the van wouldn't level after some investigation concluded we had an air leak.
