Came across this email, sent from Peugeot to the main Motorhome manufacturers. Steering problem sounds a bit dodgy I would have thought "resistance to manoeuvring" to be pretty serious. If this email is genuine, then It seems that they have known about the problems for a while Have these recalls happened?
Subject: Boxer Recall
Gentlemen,
Please be aware that we have now launched the recall on Boxer. The recall
can be found on dealer systems although the customer letters will not be
issued until next week (copy attached).
The recall (coded YLH) is in the form of a multi point recall on all Boxer
III models with the title of the recall relating to a steering defect and
covering the following operations:
1. Inspection/repair of steering rack.
2. Check of gearbox differential bolts.
3. Inspection of maxi fuse bolts.
4. Fitment of waterproof covers to:
Wiper motor
ABS unit
Starter motor
Alternator
5. Installation of water drainage tube.
Any customers that remain dissatisfield should be directed to our Customer
Care team here in Coventry. We have recently appointed a converter
specialist within our Customer Care Team - Darren Moore. Darren's role is
to liaise with your customer care teams where you have a particularly
problematic customer or situation.
We will be meeting with Gefco to devise a process to minimise disruption to
your production whilst maximising the number of vehicles complete before
despatch from compound.
I will also write to all Peugeot motor home dealers to let them know.
Regards
Sharon

SAFETY RECALL
PEUGEOT RECALL NOTIFICATION
Dear Mr. Sample
Registration Number: VIN Number:
Reference: YLH
Within the Peugeot quality programme it has been identified that there may be a problem with the steering mechanism on your vehicle which could cause resistance when manoeuvring. It is therefore necessary for an operation to be carried out on the steering rack.
At the same time, some vehicles will also have certain key components reinforced against water ingress, to prevent possible operating faults in the long term.
This work will of course be completed free of charge.
Please contact your Dealer’s service reception to make an appointment for the work to be carried out. It would help to have this letter with you when making the call as it contains all the information they will require.
If you need any assistance in locating your nearest dealer, please either use the dealer locator feature on Peugeot.co.uk | Homepage or contact the Recall Helpline on 0845 600 4400.
If you are no longer the owner of the vehicle, please complete and return the attached Change of Owner form included in this letter.
This recall is being carried out under the Code of Practice on Vehicle Safety Defects and will be monitored by the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency of the Department for Transport.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your co-operation.
Yours sincerely
