Diesel Heater for Garage/Workshop

Plastic, yours being all in one, it’s to protect the rest in same enclosure, looks good.
Shame it no work very well.

Just been onto Amazon to look at returning it, not shown as delivered yet, says out for delivery today. Wondering if another one will turn up, probably not as it was shipped by Herpes.

Lenny, I note that the fuel pump has been mounted horizontally.
The fuel pumps need to be mounted with the output side up at an angle of between 15-35 degrees to allow the cavitation bubbles to be pushed through the fuel line.

Getting one of these in a couple of weeks.very quiet WiFi and very powerful
I saved up my pennies and went for one of these as well. Bloody expensive but it heats big workshop to a decent temp for working in. Have tried other heaters elsewhere but this is far better and uses infrared heat so no fan to blow dust about. Built in thermostat and WiFi control so I can switch it on remotely when temps really drop or have it warmed up for when I arrive. Keeps any damp off sheet metal, tools etc. Tried kerosene instead of diesel with no noticeable difference and it’s half price of red diesel.

I was about to post saying about the pump.
Could the aluminium casing be nicking some heat, although it should heat up in time.

Hi Lenny

Been following this thread with interest. Do you have a link for the one you got? can't find any on Amazon with 240v. Also, does it have mains or 12v capability?

Geoff

I don't think it's a problem with the pump, no sign of any air bubbles in the fuel line and the total fuel line is only a few inches long. It's not giving out any more heat than a 1.5kw fan heater.

I've requested a return as not supplied direct by Amazon I have to wait for a response from the seller.

If you find a couple on eBay that you like the look of, put them on your watch list, after a few days, you'll likely get a discount offered as there are hundreds of dealers trying to shift them.

until i can get some heat in his manshed he under my bleeding feet in the house mind you went in the garage this morning you can hang meat in there

If anyones interested I have one as below I no longer use I was going to put it in my old Ford Herald van but sold that so it’s sitting in a cupboard.

It’s the 3kw version.

Got mine today but the dealer has said that you cannot turn it on remotely, only off and temp control, with the app but not turn on from the comfort of your chair, apparently it’s because someone could possileave something on the topcovering the exhaust.

Mine is the airrex 200: I’ve seen it working a couple of times at the dealers and it’s great ,but at a price

Is it the ‘i’ model.....?

I’ve got 200i and you can definitely turn heater on and off remotely. You have got to have the power on....ie like a tv on standby. If it is switched off you can’t switch the power on if that is what he means.

Are you turning it on using the remote or can you turn yours on using the app

Air temp when I started was 8.4° the output from the heater never got above 49°, I was expecting at least 60° minium.
You have no chance if you are continually heating cold air drawn in from outside. It has to be recycling the interior air .
What you are trying to do is the same as running a central heating system on a permanent cold feed being heated & after the last rad going down the drain.

The one I have came with a remote (odd size battery though which wasn't included) lets me switch the heater on or off from my kitchen and adjust the temperature up or down too.

No different with the garage door closed the heat exchanger is not getting hot enough.

gus-lopez my heater draws the air from outside for combustion only the heater has another air intake at the rear which heats up over the heat exchanger and is blown out through the front as hot air so eventually the heater is drawing warmer air in over the heat exchanger but still drawing cold air into the heater air intake for combustion. Hope this makes sense I fitted my air intake outside because I have 2 classic bikes with petrol fumes.
