MOTORHOMEFUN PRIVACY POLICY
Effective Date: 5th March 2023

This Privacy Policy explains how MotorhomeFun collects, uses, and protects your personal data — and what choices you have along the way. If you have any questions or concerns at all, drop us a line at admin@motorhomefun.co.uk

Who We Are

Data Controller: MotorhomeFun is operated by Jasmin Network Ltd
Address: Jasmin Lodge, Crabtree Lane, Sutton-On-Sea, Lincolnshire, LN12 2RS
Data Protection Officer: James Brown
Email: admin@motorhomefun.co.uk

Our Commitments to You

We take your privacy seriously. Here's what we commit to:
  • Protecting your privacy — your data is yours, not ours to do with as we please
  • Maintaining your anonymity — we won't go out of our way to identify you beyond what's necessary
  • Storing your data securely — on UK-based servers with appropriate safeguards in place
  • Giving you control — you can access, update, or request deletion of your data at any time

What We Collect and Why

For All Visitors

Whether you're registered or just browsing, we collect:
  • IP address, cookies, and device ID — for site functionality, security, and keeping things running smoothly
  • Page browsing history and site interactions — to personalise your experience and improve the site
  • Google Analytics data — anonymised analytical insights to help us understand how the site is used (Google's privacy policy)
  • Ad interaction data — so the adverts you see are at least vaguely relevant to you

For Registered Members

Once you create an account, we also hold:
  • Username, password, and email address — to manage your account and let you log in
  • Communication history with the admin team — so we have a record of any support or moderation interactions
  • Account activity notes — used for moderation and member support purposes

Optional Data You Choose to Share
  • Personal details provided during registration (such as your real name, location, or date of birth)
  • Email preferences and newsletter subscriptions
  • Private messages sent to other members

Posting on the Forum

A few things worth bearing in mind when you post:
  • Your username and general location may be visible to other members and guests
  • Posts are publicly visible and indexed by search engines — so once it's out there, it's out there
  • Please don't share sensitive personal information in your posts — things like financial details, full addresses, and so on

Your Rights and Choices

You're in control of your data. Specifically, you can:
  • Update your registration details and email preferences at any time via your profile page
  • Opt out of newsletters and notifications whenever you like
  • Request account deletion by contacting Admin — your posts will remain on the forum, but personal identifiers will be removed

Cookies and Tracking

  • Cookies help us recognise returning members and give you a more personalised experience
  • You can manage your cookie preferences via your browser settings or our cookie consent pop-up
  • Third-party cookies (such as those from Google or Lotame) may be used for analytics and advertising — but they are not given access to your personal data

Subscriptions and Payments

If you take out a paid membership, payments are handled by Stripe. They collect your email address, payment details, and postcode directly, and process your data under their own privacy policy. We don't hold your payment card details ourselves.

How and Where We Store Your Data

  • Your data is stored securely on UK-based servers (Fasthosts)
  • We only retain data for as long as it's genuinely needed, and review this regularly
  • Important: Private messages and conversations are stored unencrypted and may be accessed by admin staff for moderation purposes. If you need to share something truly confidential, please use an external secure platform rather than the forum's private messaging system

Requesting Your Data

You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. Get in touch by:

  • Email: admin@motorhomefun.co.uk
  • Post: Jasmin Network Ltd t/a MotorhomeFun, Jasmin Lodge, Crabtree Lane, Sutton-On-Sea, Lincolnshire, LN12 2RS

Third-Party Disclosure

We may be required to disclose personal data if compelled to do so by law, or in response to a lawful request from the police or other authorities. We don't sell your data — ever.

Security Breaches

In the unlikely event of a data breach:

  • Affected members will be notified promptly
  • The incident will be reported to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and any other relevant authorities as required by law

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the site evolves. Any significant changes will be communicated via the website or by email. Carrying on using the site after an update means you're happy with the revised policy.

Thank you for being part of MotorhomeFun. Your trust means a lot to us, and we'll always do our best to protect your data while keeping this a welcoming and supportive community.
