Hi my avatar pic has a Union Jack on it which I didn't put there how can it be changed to the saltire

I think it reflects your ip address, so it's where your ip address is that it's showing, I might be wrong tho, I seem to remember a post asking a similar question a while ago so maybe try doing a search.

That I can understand but it is just where the ip address is based. You could go through a Scottish VPN but a bit expensive!!!

What I don't understand is I didn't put the union flag on my avatar , and I'm registered as being in Ayr , Scotland

There is a easy way to take it off as you can see I have but can not remember how.
I'm sure Jim will be along and let you know how to do it.

The flag shows where you are at the moment, if you want to use a different one you need to use a vpn service and set it to a scottish vpn service, for example I have just set mine to Chile sso the flag says I am there.

I see a problem I cannot find a vpn server is scotland, and you thought yorkshire folk were tight

I have the Cumbria flag on my avatar.

To do this you first have to manipulate the image you want as your avatar using Paint or other image editing software. Find an image of the Saltaire you want and superimpose it where you want it on the image you use as your avatar. Save this amended image as a new image.

In MHFun, click on your avatar in the blue band at the top of the page.
Select Account Details
Click on Change Avatar
Navigate to the new image you created and select it.
Save changes.

Your new avatar should display the Saltaire.

Follow Jim's link above to disable showing the flag of the country you are in.

It doesn't make any difference whether you're in England, Ireland Scotland or Wales... Its still a UK IP address.
The forum software puts the flag in the avatar and it can't be changed without moving to another country outside the UK.

Why would anyone want a picture of a small Yorkshire village as their avatar? .
