Its an awful aire in comparison to some, yet we knew that, and we still used it.
In France they say it is a "Pass the salt" aire because you are crammed in so close to each other that if you are eating the salt can be passed from the neighbour !

5 euros is a steal. Always been loads of space and I have read (but not tried) the restaurant to be good. Pay the harbour capitaire your money and then free water. Cycle path alongside the canal but you are a good walk from the town. Very pleasant stopover

The aire is free of charge and I remember a dump being there and suspect water. The massacre memorial is about a mile and a half out of town towards Wormhoudt.
Nice and easy cycle path up from Montalivet to Verdon sur mer. It was a disused railway line that went right up to the port to catch the ferry across to Royan
Campsite right on the beach on ACSI rates with easy access to the beach we loaded in our 10 year old wet suits and body boards, put a bit of lemon juice in our hair to make it look more blond than grey, tucked all the excess into the suits and managed to do them up and went bodyboarding.
