Marseillan plage to Agde via canal du midi

We travelled down here yesterday into the Aire as the weather was nicer here than Spain and we needed some good internet for video conference with my occupational health doc who agreed with me I am fit to return to normal 12 hour duties days and nights on my next shift which is Thursday.
Anyway, this enclosed Aire is 5 euros a night this time of year and there were plenty of spaces with the weekend weather being appalling coming up. We have tried here at different times and failed as it is very popular during warm periods.
There is a huge naturist section of beach which is infamous a couple of kilometres west.
We went out on the bikes to Agde town (not the cap d'agde which is seperate) there were some lovely views across the etaing or inland lake the canal runs through and cycling to meze was an option taken away from us because of the time of interview. The cycle path to Agde was rough hardened sand with easily spottable ruts and surprisingly smooth away from the ruts. Only a couple of locks. Views of the canal were limited. But disappointing but pleasant enough

Then we came across the herault river and wonderful view across the river to the cathedral which we would normally enter but a funeral was ongoing today.

And back up the river from agde

The town was old but they are doing the square up nicely and it LL be lovely in the summer. This square is away from the river. Paintings on the walls caught the eye right by the cathedral and if you're thinking of a nice picturesque place for lunch the river had several restaurant boats all offering plats du jour around the 20 euros mark. Most were busy.

However, KFC didn't do french offers but Burger King did. 5.80 euros for double cheeseburger, chips, drink and a poor man's interpretation of a McFlurry was our plat du jour before lazing it up on the beach.
