Asda canopy- Am I in trouble? (2 Viewers)

We called at the Asda in Derby today to fill up with LPG.
As always with a MoHo you have to get very close to the kiosk but I had not spotted he canopy around the roof.

Ooopps

The manager got involved and photos and insurance details were taken.
Amazingly there was very little damage to the awning

What do the panel think?

Sorry for your misfortune. Pleased you had very little damage but the canopy looks sad. Not a cheap repair as it looks like a corner and side section.

Silly boy.
Looks like most of those scuff marks on your awning will polish out but I think the repair to Asda's kiosk will be expensive.
As it looks like an insurance claim so you might get a new awning & might be able to flog that one.

On street view LPG pump is the lane on the far right. The kiosk canopy is the one one the right centre

I had a sainsburys trolley park gutter take a 12" scrape above my windows. I wasn't looking that high up!!!

If the van was no so wide and I could reach the credit card machine easier it wouldn't have happened.
Its a bit of a stretch from a MoHo especially when the now have anti covid screens

Well, on the positive side, the recent claim for the ramp damage will seem like small beer. That's a £ 7.5k claim for the canopy , special ally profile, one of painting ect,ect.

The same layout as the asda in Bristol I fill up at the other month. I walked to the till to pay as I didn't think I could get out. So I reversed back and went heough the pay at pump lanes. Somebody with a caravan had already taken out a pump. At least your insured.

On a positive note, we had an unfortunate bump on a roundabout that I had to admit fault . Polished out my damage , third party claimed, when I asked when I paid my excess, Comfort said as I didn’t claim for my vehicle I didn’t pay any excess and only a few pounds added at renewal

might be worth asking before getting a new awning you don’t need

I don't think I've ever paid from the MH cab at a fuel station. I always stop just before the kiosk and hop out and pay on foot. It's never occurred to me to do anything else.

I don't think I've ever paid from the MH cab at a fuel station. I always stop just before the kiosk and hop out and pay on foot. It's never occurred to me to do anything else.

When filling up our motorcycles we leave them at the pump and I walk to the kiosk to pay. Faffing around with my wallet whilst sitting on my bike is a pain.

Once had someone in France try to tell us to move, but just ignored them. Plenty of other pumps to choose from.

Nearly did the same in Coventry Asda. They have now taken out the kiosk as pay at pump only I was informed by the workmen that they are all changing to stop drive offs
I would as if this is going to happen at your Asda before they go ahead with the repairs

You could then charge them for starting the demolition

1st time we used that pump they came out to warn us about the overhang,I think some one had previously hit it.
As we are LHD there is no way to pay from inside cab
