Thats why we're using the firestick, we ve watched all the matches and the F1 on i player, ITV hub an d all4 in places thst I would have been struggling with satelite.

BBC has done something right as i player has an internet setting that uses half the data of the others.

Yes. Go into settings in the i player. It actually tells you which setting to use for mobile data.

What's the general consensus on how Brits are being received on holiday in Europe ?
We are planning 6 weeks in Spain and Portugal later in the year.

We ve had 2 weeks in Spain and 2 weeks in Portugal, made very welcome and everywhere is quieter.
Going to France in the next week or so

Been there didn't remember the posts with the ropes.
Great until another Brit comes in and trips the electrics for the whole site including the lights in the leisure centre. No I did't we only have gas heating.

Correct we use a Vodafone SIM and the APN is something like wap.vodafone.co.uk so it connects thru the UK.

Most of the N10 is a fast dual carriageway but over 3500kg limited to 80kph & no overtaking. Also it's the main route for trucks to Spain thousands of them on it. I've only been down it once, I said never again.

I use the BIS route

Is there anyone going to Germany this year. We spend most of our 2 weeks in Germany and will be doing so again, but it looks like it might a lonely place this year. It's always nice to bump into the odd Brit now and again.

Sorry, but if your connecting in France, Germany or Spain you can use a UK sim, but it will not connect to Vodafone UK - it will be on another network and the IP address that it supplies BBC iPlayer will not connect.

Not with a firestick tethered to a uk phone you don't. Its brilliant, no way could we have watched the footie in english in central Portugal even on 90cmx dish.
