I said I would post some pictures after crossed from Dovet to Calais yesterday and will start here. I'm not even going to try and do a blog but will provide some information that newbies might find helpful
Diesel cheapest infringe so far around 1.40 €. GPL between 90 & 99 cents.
When we crossed we had to show up to date covid vaccination status and we copied out the one from the NHS digital App (not the covid 19 app). The declaration document and a private antigen negative test. This can be from your phone or on a document. If your unlucky and get a pig of a border police expect to me well scrutinised.we were pulled in by customs as we left the ferry at Calais, we were the only motorhome on board and they were polite ask us some basic questions and wished us a safe holiday. Fridge was not checked.
So, Drove to the aire at Nonancourt and managed to squeeze in between two French vans who were very welcoming. A peaceful night, short walk through the town this morning and off tour next stopover South of Tours and find a restaurant that shows tonight's semi final. France is a smashing country to drive through too.

Thanks for this thread, very useful. 😎

We’ve often stopped at Nonancourt, I call it the Pompiers place😂. The town is very pretty and well worth a look around. Beside the Aire you can sit in the parkland, by the river. It’s very peaceful and pretty.

Today we headed along the infamous N10 route to South of Tours. We have been using this route for about 10-12 years now and whilst there may be sections that are a bit slow and tedious we have always found it to be a great way to get from Calais to Spain using the minimum of toll roads. Today we paid our first toll which took us through the city of Tours. Jct 19 to jct 23. Total cost. €1.80. I'm very glad to see it has not increased since the last time we used it. I've also calculated my fuel spend from Calais to Irun and this will be about 120€ and I aim to cross the Border without going into my reserve, then brim at Alcampo just inside Spain who are about 1.20€ a litre.
Very hot now, on an air just off the N10 at Sainte_Maure de Touraine and its filling up. The place has 4000 inhabitants and it looks like there might be only one bar in the town. So fingers crossed they are open tonight and the football is on.
A couple of the pictures of the aire. Bet you someone pops up shortly and starts preaching about rules on Aires. Don't you just love them.

We stop there as well. I’m feeling very jealous 🤢

We've watched most of it this time using a firestick tethered to the phone. Works really well as long as 4g is ok and not bothered by satellite limits or trees.

There’s a Boulangerie/Patisserie that sells the most delicious lemon tarts on the main road. I call that Aire the lemon tart Aire. Much easier to pronounce 😎

Watching on my laptop connected to my inverter and connected to my phone. Going really well, batteries only discharged by 15% after 45 minutes and holding up at 12.7 V. Great game wife grabbed hold of me in excitement. A rare thing.

Have a good trip Phil & Mena.
Your beloved N10 is OK if you are a lightweight but best avoided like the plauge if you are over 4500kg.

Accuweather is quoting low to mid twenties in the north.

Correct..that's where we did our summer of 2020....however it's a vast area and some big weather differences.... Galicia was 23° Cantabria 34°
5 hours from here in Murcia will knock 15° off the daytime temperature if the location is chosen correctly...

Enjoyed that game very much last night. Used my lap-top and connected to my inverter and used my phone as a mobile hot spot and it worked treat. Only used 15% of my battery capacity and about 2.5 GB to watch game. I purchased a PAYG sim card from Vodafhone day before travelling and when it connected it trippled the data allowance. I'm restricted to 25GB a month over here so got plenty of data left and enough for the final if we can't find a local bar showing the game. I think that will not be a problem in Spain, they love there football. Nice and cool this morning but its looking to be another warm day.

Most of the N10 is a fast dual carriageway but over 3500kg limited to 80kph & no overtaking. Also it's the main route for trucks to Spain thousands of them on it. I've only been down it once, I said never again.

Ah ok...we are 4250kg so thats out for us too then... dont fancy that
