So the site might stutter or even disappear now and again. We are moving from http to https. Even though we don't carry out any financial transactions on our server, we want to be as secure as possible.

Thanks for your patience.

Backups are completed, we are now updating some system stuff that may slow the system down.

Much better than Quinta MCwhatever I don't force my guests to Strim weeds or dig wells. The odd bit of server maintenance maybe, but making hay! harvesting Olives! I don't know how you get away with it. :D

Yes indeed... I was REALLY impressed with all the strimming and well digging YOU did when you were last here!

You'll now notice that top left you should have a padlock and see https. This means that all communications between your browser and the website are now encrypted. (y)

If you see any pages that don't show the padlock or you receive errors please shout. Cheers

So Gromett, is my instantly-disappearing padlock because I'm running on an out-of-date Vista? - I've done a restart and it's just the same, with a piece of paper with folded-over corner where the padlock should be.
(PS it's Chrome)

I am sorry I don't run windows so am struggling to help you out. Vista shouldn't be an issue as Chrome is self contained..

If you right click on a blank area of the page then click on inspect.
You will get a pane appear to the right of your screen.
If you click on the console tab there will be loads of diagnostic information.

If you can copy and paste that, I can tell you what the issue is..

Thanks

PS: might be tomorrow now as I have just had a couple of beers as I had 2 other clients to sort out after doing the motorhomefun stuff.

It doesn't matter as far as I'm concerned @Gromett (not what you want to hear after spending hours improving security!) - I just thought you wanted to know if anybody didn't get the padlock.
PS I also tried with AdBlocker removed.

That helped (y)

The lines that look like this are caused by the https page trying to load a non https image.
page-2#post-2367664:2685 Mixed Content: The page at '' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure image 'http://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/ads/jimsshop.gif'. This content should also be served over HTTPS.

However, we have fixed all those this morning. So you are seeing this in error.

Your computer I think has cached pages or section of pages and this is causing the issue for you.

If you can hold the shift key down and click the reload/refresh button it should clear it up for you.

If it doesn't we will have to ask other funsters for advice on vista/chrome on how to clear your cache. But it is definitely an issue with your computer not the server :( :)

I guess it might be awhile before anyone at LHR has one :imoutahere:
