Rally Twin Lakes - France 2018

if we pop in for a few days can we bring our dog?
Yes of course. Dogs are very welcome on any part of the site including bar and lounge, though they must be kept on a lead.
Hope to see you there. :france:

That's good news @Kevan

...I avoid sites that charge for dogs ....and still charge a solo for two peeps!

Just thought I would mention the attendees tab does not fully agree with those who have confirmed attendance!

Does the 12€/ night include a dog please?
The 12E a night includes as many people as you want and dogs as well. Everyone welcome. You will also have use of electric sockets in the buildings, the use of the lounge and FREE Emmerdale and Coronation Street..
You are very welcome at any time for as long or short as you wish.
Hope to see you there. :france:

That is always the case. Some put on and don't arrive, and many do not put it on the list at all. It is only a guide and I take no notice of them.

Travelling down through France on either the E10 or A10 towards Bordeaux? Then Twin Lakes, located at N45°17'54.4" W0°26'08.3" is the perfect stopover site.
Seven acres of site with a bar, lounge, cooked food (at certain times) two lakes, woodland walk and quiet surroundings make you want to stay longer, yet only two miles from Montendre village with fuel, food store, fishing tackle, vet and fruit & veg.
If you are around between 5th and 19th September drop in and meet other Funsters on this Meet. Stay a night, or more if you wish. You will also get Rally Rates during that period too.

NEW FOR 2018.
We know that many Funsters do not like to carry a lot of money around with them so....for the Charity Auction Night we will allow anyone who wants to to pay by PAYPAL. If you bid 1E it will be £1 to make things easy.

For planning purposes, if we were to arrive early, would that be a problem? Say the 4th? We plan to be at Cité Europ on the 1st, which makes us too early. As always, plans are fluid, and likely to change. That's one of the things I like about touring. Don't like to plan too much, since I might turn left instead of right.

We will be there on 2nd. Anytime after that is fine. We are currently spending 2 nights at the municipal site at Sees. Been coming here for 4 years and love it. The town has so much to see even though it is small...and loads of restaurants . Well recommended...and ACSI too at 14.5E.

Useful to know about this site. We don't often use this motorway but now there's a 50mph limit on country roads we might be driven to it. Actually we used it in on our return trip in July. Thanks!

We are sorry to hear you are unable to attend..obviously serious. Will be in contact in a couple of days. Xx

Hi Graham and Jean,
Our house move has gone really slowly thanks to the overpaid lazy solicitors who completely ignored our requested dates for completion. We were hoping to be in and done by now and on our way to Twin Lakes but it is looking like it will not be complete for another 2 weeks so we will not be able to get there for the 5th as planned. We are going to try and get there at least before the end of the meet and maybe extend our stay after it ends, so sorry for the late notice. As we were booked for a EHU you can offer it to anyone on the reserve list as it would be unfair to keep it reserved till we arrive. We hope to see you all there at some point and wish everyone a "Bonnes Vacances".
Regards
Rob & Susan

Hi @JaG just finishing off loading the van and getting my routes sorted. Subject to unforeseen circumstances, we'll be arriving after lunch on Friday 7th Sept.

Looking forward to seeing you all.

Terry and Bren

PS for Jean - just packed a big box of card making materials. Hope I can find somewhere to put it!

I’ve said it before. STOP STOP.

You are going to have a terrible time.

The lakes are terrible.
The fishing is terrible.
The bar is terrible.
The site is terrible.
The welcome you will receive, will be terrible.
The owner is terrible, beware his fowling gun when he is after moles.
The delivered baguettes are terrible
The surrounding area is terrible.
The local market every Thursday, where you can by almost anything, is terrible.
The strawberry seller at the local market is terrible.
The helper lady Helen, and her dog Socks, if she is there, is terrible.

Terrible, terrible, terrible.

You are all going to have a terrible time.

The Very @old-mo. type FellaPerson once sent us there as a punishment.

All I can say is make sure you have all left, by next March, because it is going to be difficult for you to leave. I do like a quiet, peaceful site each spring. :gum:
I have to say that I can confirm all of that as we attended last year.:D
Just a shame we are not going this year :(

Tunnel Tuesday evening after short visit to Mum, stopping on Citie Europ, then a steady run down. We don't rush anywhere.

It’s our first time in France in the MH. Staying tonight at Neufchâtel-en-Bray, does anyone have any suggestions for good dog friendly stops for the next two nights?
There was a van in our compartment on the shuttle, MH18 FUN, thought I’d knock and say hello - only to be met with blank faces.... they weren’t funsters!

Stay away from the towns and cities, look for something a little bit off the main road using one of the aires books or apps and that's how we've found some little gems. We've also found a couple of dumps too so if you're not sure about what you see go find another, there's plenty about. But DON'T stay on motorway service areas, it's Aire de Camping Car you're looking for.
