Rally Twin Lakes - France 2018

I've said it before. I've no idea why you lot are going to Twin Lakes. Personally I think its a strange place, a bit like the owner, who you have to beat with a stick to get him to take pitch money, and who prowls the site, cutting grass and with a fowling gun trying to terminate moles. :gum:

The only redeeming grace is the weather and the peace, quiet, and tranquillity, and the Lakes themselves, particularly if you like fishing, the close proximity of a Super Marche and all the surrounding area and of course the bar. :france:

The Very @old-mo Type Fella sent us there, as a get his own back, for my criticism of his jokes and we have absolutely no intention of returning there for a third time, next April, particularly if @DavidG58 is going to be there.

@SuperMike provided you are still slumming it in that camouflaged converted bus thing, nobody will spot you in the grass anyway, you might get to stop for free

If you keep quiet

Woooooooooooo I can be on site and yet still be a freeloading tosser. That would be a first I think.:sneaky::)

Sure.... I was wondering if I could make it on one week end only as working.... Will think of it. I suppose I don't have to worry about the pitch as load of space there @JaG?? Do I?? If I can make it I won't need EHU anyway .
No problem. Just turn up as and when you want to, though a day's notice would be helpful.

And another thing, don’t go to the market every Thursday in the local village, which finishes about noon. You have to get up early and go, where it is almost as big as St Albans market, spread all up the little streets, so you get lost, and they sell almost anything including live chicken, ducks and geese. Also don’t bother with the guy who only sells strawberries to die for. It’s definately not worth a visit every week. >:) :emo:

No problem. Thanks for letting us know.

We had a crash in our van on Friday and it is now with the repairers - they estimate 3 to 4 months so I can’t see us being there so please remove us from the list. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for letting us know. Hope you get your van sorted soon.

Hi @JaG Jean and Graham. Could I make a booking for 7 days from 5th September please? We may stay longer but not certain of our plans as yet. Hookup would be nice but we can get away without it so don't worry if there's none available. Terry and Brenda Law plus Jamie the Westie. Assume it's okay to book here but if you need any further info happy to respond.

Good morning and welcome to MotorhomeFun. :welc:
You have picked a good meet for your first as there is loads of room, plenty to do, or not to do if you prefer, and a whole wealth of knowledgeable and friendly Funsters on site. We will make sure you introduced and made to feel welcome, as everyone is. We have put you down for 11th to 19th however, you can change those dates at any time, turning up earlier or later.
The post at the beginning says it all really but if you want to know anything specific just ask. You arrive, enjoy yourself then pay on leaving.
There are only a few Site Rules.
1. Chill out and relax
2. Do what you want to do :drinks: :snooze: :cycle: :drink: :reel: :cooler: :dance2:
3. Enjoy yourself
4. Leave vowing to return many a time. :france:

Thanks Jag
Really looking forward to it already. I am hoping to have added solar before then to help us be more self sustainable. But was wondering if there would be any more EHUs as I didn’t ask on booking. Do I have to contact Someone else or anyone to change it.
Hope to see everyone at the Malvern show too cheers. Keith

Hi we may be in the area and passing by when this is on. Would it be ok to message you a couple of days before to see if you have space for a night or two or do I have to commit to dates now? We wouldn't need ehu. :)

You are very welcome to come at any time for any length of time, there is plenty of room on the site. A couple of days notice of arrival time would be helpful. Look forward to seeing you. :france:

@jetlag03 what flag are you after? If it's a Fun flag I'm sure Jim would be able to post it to you - er no. He's out of stock by the looks of it.

It is indeed the funster flag. Last time I asked he said he couldn't deliver to me here in France, probably due to postage costs. I have the yellow stickers for the windscreen and one for that back of the van but would like a flag to wave. I've heard they are very good at keeping mozzies away and allow the owner of said flag, unlimited free cold ale anywhere he/she sees a similar flag flying, mine would of course fly very very low and discretely to try avoid unwanted attention.

Shame, would have been quite happy to bring one down for you. Never mind I'll fly mine and you can come and bring me unlimited free cold beer!:drinks:

Might be able to find a shillings worth of ale or similar if you can bring one down for me, I'll even pay for the flag, but be gentle, I am Yorkshire ... wallet only opens on high days
