We are locking the house up for the last time, after 20 years of sharing our time between France and Yorkshire. We have had lovely weather for the last weeks whilst we have been packing. We moved into the MH on Thursday after the furniture left. We are setting off in the morning and we start the 450 mile Journey to Calais, hopefully a stop overnight on the Neufchâtel Aire.

Safe journey home, what a beautiful place to have enjoyed for 20 years. Have you any new adventures ahead.

What a lovely house you are leaving I hope you have a good journey home. The weather in Yorkshire is a bit overcast at the moment so hoping you will bring some French sunshine home with you.

🎼 All the leaves are down and the sky is grey, I'm not going for a walk, on this winter's day (as it's pouring at the mo) 🎼

Well in my part of Edinburgh it is.

Safe journey and may your memories keep your heart warm forever.

I think the next adventure is negotiating the gendarmes on the way home then of course the M25.
When we bought the site it was a one room house and barn uninhabited for 100 years. earth floor, holes in walls and little roof left. As it is near an ancient church everything we did had to go to the equivalent on Ancient Monuments. We have done all the work ourselves, so have been seriously clobbered by capital gains, as in France you can only offset if a French Artisan has done the work.
We knew we were going to get hit and there was nothing we could do. It’s sold (Monday 23rd completion) so that’s that. Hopefully more time to make better use of the MH.
We keep looking on RightMove with the thought of buying yet another wreck, I then put my 70 odd year old head on and decide that living in a caravan on a building site is maybe not logical. But- you never know.

You will know when we are back in the proper bit of Yorkshire (North) as the sun will shine forever.

Started out grey and drizzly in York this morning but by 2pm sunny and mild. 17:15 now and pitch dark. 😞

Sorry to see you go - bon chance pour l'avenir et bonne route!:france:(y)
