Sorry again for the lack of updates.

After leaving Peniscola we stayed a night at Bonterra Park in Benecassim. Had a good meal in the site restaurant, but weather was cloudy and cold so we decided to head doen to Altea and that is where it all started to go wrong.

Met some reprobate funsters @BreweryDave and Jackie, @MikeD and Sandra and @Clive.. For the last two days they have kidnapped us snd forced us to drink alcohol and eat food. Yesterday was the worse day when we suffered an 8 hour route msrch around local bars and ended up gate crashing a wedding. All the time @MikeD was taking photos so I expect you will be able to see on other threads how unhappy we were.

I am just hoping that @Armytwowheels turns up soon to rescue us and get us back to sanity.

A further update

We finally escaped the retrobates in Altea yesterday and we are now wild camping at La Azohia. Thanks to Colin @Armytwowheels for the tip. Nice and close to the sea. Yesterday we spent the afternoon in the sun

Today we went on the scooter to a large cliff top fort over looking the sea. Thanks to @MikeD for that tip. It has thrse large guns still installed.

Back in time for lunch at a local restaurant, so we can play guess the bill again.
Starters of lentill stew and ham rolls

Mains of sea bream and beef stew
IMG_20170425_131914.jpg

Sweets of ice cream and a yummy spanish bread pudding that were eaten too quickly to photograph. Had 3 glasses of white wine a large beer and two coffees. All in a nice place next to the sea.

So how much did it cost excluding the tip?

Sounds like a menu del dia so €2 each for 6 drinks =€12 and 2 x MDD @€13 =€26 so €38 all in but I forgot a bottle of wine usually included so less the cost of the wine - my guess is €32 plus tip

If you are still in the area on Sunday, we can recommend a trip to Peurto de Mazarron about 10 -15 km further west to the Sunday Market. There is a roast chicken stall on there that does the best Roast chicken with garlic gravy, together with some fried potatoes & a ciabatta stick for €11 all in.
They cut the whole roast chicken into pieces into a foil container in front of you, add the gravy and seal it with a lid - so easily carried. Potatoes into another foil container and together with the bread in a carrier. We cycled back to Playa Mazarron, about 20 mins and it was still hot.

Enough cold chicken left for sandwiches following day.

Thanks Robert, that is on the list, but Angela is worried that there may be mosquitoes now it is getting hot. May well look at it though as we are not far away.

It doesn't need to be hot for mozzies there.
They're built like B52's (with the same payload of misery)

We have now moved on to Cabo De Gata. Staying in a very nice ACSI site at Los Escullos. Did not do a lot this afternoon other than a BBQ and just relaxing.

The wind is getting up again. Forecast is for rain over most of Spain tomorrow. We are hoping that this bit will be dry enough for us to walk down to the sea tomorrow.

We were wilding in the big car park opposite the beach at La Azohia. We were going to stay at Los Madrilles but the car park seemed a bit more central when we looked at it. We don't stay long in places as we get stir crazy after a while.
