Valentino Rossi confirms signing a 1 year deal with Petronas Yamaha for 2021 but without some of his crew.😱

I’m putting my money on team VR46 entering MotoGP in 2022, when the number on the grid is being increased, with the rest of the team he’s leaving behind this year. 👍🏼

I reckon next year will be Vales last and the following year will see him enter his own team under the VR46 banner with the same team behind him that he's had for years but who Petronas won't let him take with him next year. Talk is that it might be on Suzukis.

Yamaha have been docked 50 points for making technical changes to their bikes without getting the authorised approvals.

It has now been qualified as "protocol" infringement, not technical. Make of that what you will.
Gerloff has been going very well so far in free practice.

Yes, thank you
That might explain why the commentators have been waxing lyrical about the satellite teams this year and to be quite brutal about it, they are well faster than previous years, even Bradley Smith * much better racer than I ever would or could be* Has appeared on the score board and it has got me thinking about a KTM

Yes it looks like he might be riding tomorrow. Don't think it's particularly fair on Gerloff dragging him all the way over just for a couple of practice sessions though.

Absolutely.....but he did sound happy with the opportunity in the interview, but that could just be corporate speak for I’m as sick as a chip. 😢

As you say,so impressed with Gerloff,First time on GP bike, first time on Valencia track, looked smooth and confident.Bit of a difficult one,so pleased the goat is back but am sure Gerloff will have been watched by all the team managers for the future.
Missed Moto 2 session yesterday afternoon so guessing Jake had a nasty off?

Jake has flown back to England with a fractured arm.
Gerloff was only about 1 second off the pace of the regulars.
Vale's out on track this morning and is currently in 15th. (11 mins to go in this session).

Been announced that VR46 will have two riders in MotoGP next year on Ducatis. One is Luca Marini and I can't remember who the other one is for certain but it may be Bastianini.

Both riders will be riding Ducati’s for Esponsorama....but Marini will still use the VR46 colours.

My guess is, plugging the gap till team VR46 joins properly in 2022.

TheTwoOfUs do you think Quartararo has thrown it away today and has Vinales had it taken away from him?

I don’t think you could bet on anything other than a Suzuki at the minute.

I think Quatararo threw it away a few races back. His inconsistency has cost him. Vinales takes too long to get to the pace of the race and by the time he does the rest have cleared off. Dovizioso has thrown the towel in and who can blame him. Poor day for the Brits, bad start from McPhee and all Lowes had to do was finish in front of his main rival, instead he went for the win. He could have gone into next weeks race with a comfortable lead in the Championship, now he's behind.
Still, what do I, an armchair critic, know ;)
Pleased that Suzuki have spoiled the cartel by getting in amongst them.

I think Quatararo buckled under the pressure as you said a few weeks back. I’m not a big fan of Vinales, very capable of a very fast lap....but amongst other bikes on race day, it’s a different story, shame about the penalty for another engine tho, but I guess rules are rules.

And after all the song and dance with Yamaha‘s valves and engine allocation......Rossi breaks down 😱🤔

At least it wasn‘t Gerloff....that would have properly spoilt his weekend.

As a Brit, I think we’re used to not having high expectations for our riders. You would have thought with Lowes experience he’d have just done what was required. 😢

KTM are very very close to spoiling the party for the big guns now too.....

I'm torn as to who to support, I have a Yamaha, a Suzuki, a Honda & Royal Enfield.........

....... I think I'll support the Enfield team 🙂

Joking aside, this has been a weird, but very enjoyable season

No Francis Barnett team then  You are right without Marquez ( Mark) everyone else has had a go at winning! Is it 9 different winners now? And as for Sam Lowes ( or is it Alex who knows?) will someone teach him to count, a steady 2nd would have been just fine, I appreciate they are racers but occasionally common sense should prevail he might have just thrown away his chance of winning the championship.
