Looks like leaving the U.K. is not allowed at the moment

Its a bit stupid to say protecting the NHS when these people were trying to leave the country therefore would have been away from the NHS

The rules are a little dumb to be honest

I was in lidl today to buy food shopping but was not allowed to buy a plastic bowl in which to put salad

If the governments around the world want people to obey rules stop calling it advice ( which is optional ) and start calling it what it is

Also making masks mandatory outside even when theres no one around is just stupid ....the virus is not airborne

Make things simple and consistent and folk will follow it

Make things confusing and dumb and expect people to interpret things differently.

From a brief reading they might have reduced the load on the NHS by leaving the country but not by traveling inside the UK first. I wish they would do a lot more of this around here cases more than doubled last week a lot think due to visitors from high covid areas. I think we're now 7th highest in the country.

I think we don’t want anymore than those who live here as ICU is over 92% full so no sick visitors needed for what ever reason they need ICU . Doesn’t necessarily have to be Covid to need ICU

I don't know why all the European governments haven't refused access for all but essential travel. I think they're all still thinking about tourist spending even when they've shut large parts of their economies.

Not sure if tourists are allowed here as the form you complete has no part to cover tourism

But I think it's probably a bit like here loopholes in the rules. I bet they allow transit through to another country even if it's not essential to go there.

I guess it depends on if you are stopped and who stops you . A bit obvious in a motorhome with non french plates . I think you can transit to go home as per March .
And at the moment you have to get out of the U.K. first lol

Yes it is airborne, that is it's main method of transmission.

No non essential travel which, in France must be accompanied by a dated and timed attestation with the appropriate box crossed. Such are the rules, financial penalties in place for those who fail to comply and get caught.

I think transit from one restricted country to another is permitted with proof of returning to your home base or providing care for at risk person, or going to your second home for reasons of security including preparing it for winter, yep, apparently it is allow. There will be a few others I've forgotten.

But, for me and 'er indoors, for the moment, we will stay pretty much where we are.

Each to their own eh

Once you're this side of the water, you have to be prepared to fully justify your reason for travelling during lockdown. Judging from my visits to Spain outside lockdown in both early and late summer, I think they'd already written-off any significant revenue from tourists this year.

Occupancy on the campsites was low and perhaps only 20-30% of restaurants, bars etc, were open. I tried to imagine myself being in their position and feel quite relieved that I'm a pensioner - for now at least!

The virus IS airborne when you sneeze, cough or shout hence a mask will help prevent spread.
I don't know where you are but. How is me wearing a mask on Ilkely moor going to help to protect you. Today I walked 11.5 miles over the moor and saw thats saw not went near 3 people. How would me wearing a face covering protect them? the nearest was probably a quarter to a third of a mile away.

I cannot believe people think transmission is not airborne ????? The amount of info we have had about transmission since mar ????? Truly astounding , words fail me 😂
It is certainly not classed as airborne. It is in the exhaled breath of people that have it. it will fall to the ground roughly 2 metres away from the infected person. That is not what airborne means. Airborne means it is in the atmosphere around us all the time.
