Is this new or second hand , because the seal along the edge doesn't look to clever eitherView attachment 177601 View attachment 177602 View attachment 177603 just noticed what looks like bubbles or a ridge where it looks like the roof is delaminating? Is this normal, and I am being over fussy or is there a problem here, the van is only 3 weeks old, do need to resolve this promptly. I
It's not one of the baileys that have been recalled for roofs out of line is itBrand new, to replace the previous one we rejected........

He's gone quiet, has he took it back? Is it a bailey?
Sorry about that , must have been posting at the same time,The surface over most of the roof is solid, the raised bits definitely seem to be air bubbles as opposed to just slightly raised over supports, when pushed there is little resistance. Think I'll be running it back to the dealers tomorrow.

Fairly certain Dethleffs use bonded construction so something is wrong. Take it back and get a Hymer. Not a Bailey, a .......

Am sure he didn't say he wanted to downgrade, however if he gets some money back might be worth itFairly certain Dethleffs use bonded construction so something is wrong. Take it back and get a Hymer.

Just ask him to show you another one.Just spoke to dealers, before I went into detail, he described it, and said that is "normal" every Dethleffs with a fibreglass roof is the same..... which is slightly re-assuring, but still does not seem right, I am currently awaiting a call from someone else in the dealers, but this concerns me, as presumably the long term effect of expansion/contraction on the roof will cause it to fracture?

I think a lot of German manufacturers have been forced by insurance companies to fit a GFK/fibreglass roof, it would be interesting to ask if this is loose fitted over an aluminium skin as it obviously not bonded.Thank you Martin, that looks the same as mine, so it seems "normal" you would have thought for the brochure they would have sorted it though.
