I'm New!
In the process of getting all my gas stuff cleaned up. It's by far easiest to put the Gaslow filler point in the locker on a 90degree bracket.

You read about people not being allowed to fill when they open the locker up but in reality how often does it really happen here or abroad?

I've got 4 LPG pumps within 10 minutes of our house, so the choice is there, I know one you could rock up with 100 Calor bottles and hand fill them all and they wouldn't care (not that I would or should)

Internal might be easier to fit, but external is easier to use when filling.
mine is external, near the locker.

Yeh I would prefer it but the locker, is tight to the door one one side and the cab on the other and the skirts have a lovely curve in them.

Moved mine from in the locker mainly because sometimes there isn’t the space at the pump to open the top hinged gas locker.

I went through a phase on one trip in Spain where every Repsol garage I went in refused me permission to refill my Gasit cylinders as soon as I opened the locker door.

Very nearly ran out as a result!

I have since fitted an external filler point in the skirt below the gas locker and alls now well!

I’ve had my gaslow system for 9 years with the fill point inside the locker and never had a problem (yet). Have filled up in uk and Europe.

Mine is below the skirt on a 90° bracket. Easy to remove if I want to take the kit out and fit on another van leaving no trace it was ever there

Not good practice best avoided.
Dealers love fitting the filler points in the door because it’s easy and unfortunately they are lazy ⚠️🤔
They also like fitting the bottles the wrong way around so customers can’t see the gauges ⚠️
Oh because they are lazy ⚠️
You might start to see a pattern developing 😂

Had a few internal fill points on my vans over the years and travelled all over Europe, never had any issues.

Fitted mine inside the gas locker door and never had any issues. Moved it into the next van and still no problems with filling. Point is there are no holes in the van bodywork and you keep ownership of everything if you change vehicles. Good luck

Recently fitted a Gaslow system and after much consideration I went with the external filler. Really easy to fit and keeps the pipes nice and neat inside the locker. When I sell the MH you can buy a transfer kit to blank off the filler and move the system to the next MH.
I was surprised how easy it was to fill the system at the pump too 😎

Since the late 70's
Basildogs Autogas 2000 supplied the twin gaslow system in my Hymer, with an external filler. I fitted it. That van went up for sale yesterday. After discussion on here and with a dealer, I decided there is asset value offering the van with gaslow installed, so I’m selling the van with a single 11kg gaslow and a propane backup. It keeps the cost down by a bottle and the dealer guy said a number of buyers are worried about finding a filling station so opt for that combination. So I ordered a new system for my new Pvc yesterday after discussions and sending photos with one of the Autogas guys. He soon worked out what I wanted for a twin 11kg set up in the pvc. External filler on a bracket, and an external barbi point plus all pipes, hoses. Plus a bottle etc. the filler is going to be behind the rear wheel as far back as I can fit the bracket. Not ideal, but better than inside the van I think.

Like this……😉 And it’s not as low to the Road as it looks. 👍 Fitted by a dealer.

Nearly Sapper. They recommended I fit it just round to the nearside to avoid any interference with a towbar in due course.

So I know you have a tow bar. Does the main tow bar that sits behind the bumper go over that far?

ps. My gaslow order to Autogas 2000 was delivered today at 1pm. I ordered it all at about 2pm yesterday. So thats a big thumbs up to Basildog's guys.

Mines been in the locker for years, never been refused here, france, spain, belguim, lux, netherlands, etc etc

Make ssure you put the bracket in a place easy to get the pump on, mines "snug" :)

We do also do this bracket for the rear that doesn’t need any drilling as it utilises the existing nut behind the bumper.
Thanks for your order , glad they sorted it promptly for you 👍

Thanks all, I'm reading from this, refusal happens but its fairly rare, looks like Abacist hit Repsol when they were possibly having a policy adjustment.

It helps if the service station doesn't have the gas pump under the nose of the cashiers who obviously have instructions not to allow it if they see it.

(y) Steven has asked me if I want that bracket, but I chose the short one after discussing the options so I could put it round the side.
I have now converted the existing twin gaslow system in the outgoing Hymer to one gaslow plus the 6kg propane bottle I had. All the right bits were supplied and its working (y) Its started raining - AGAIN - so fitting the twin system comprising one old and the new cylinder, along with the new regulator, filler etc can wait.

If you look to the left of the 2nd photo you can see the mounting bolts of the detachable towbar.

No interference with the towbar we have fitted.👍

Nearly all done. Twin bottle system is up and running but guess where I fitted the fill socket... at the back Sapper520!!! Its a bit different to yours as it has a square pull off cover. Very discreet, as its set back from the bumper. It just didn’t look right round the corner behind the wheel somehow.

Just the barbecue point to fit on the other (sliding door) side now. That’s for another day.

Yes, very nice. Proper job. Do you know where it’s connected to Sapper? As its a long way back to the shut off valves in the garage area.
I ordered 3m of copper tube, 8mm tee piece and a chassis mount version of yours, with the idea I will fit it in front of the rear wheel as long as the sliding door allows access to it. Well under the awning then when I’m demoted to external living only:LOL:
