Hope some mechanic reads this and offers an opinion?
2012 Fiat 500 1.2 pop.
If you floor throttle in any gear including from stand still there is no problem. But if you keep foot floored in 3rd and 4th gear when you hit 50mph or so the revs jump up and speed no longer does. Ease foot off accelerator a little and clutch fully engages and car continues to accelerate.

I have had clutch go on me before where you get the classic NO gears selectable OR pulling away you feel clutch slip. Never had it where the slipping starts at higher speed?

Any insites ladies and gentlemen? Apart from probably saving up for complete clutch replacement.

needs a new clutch

Mileage ?
Is pedal returning fully ?

My sons change clutches 30/40 thousand miles in their garage.
Usually due to driving style or that of previous owner.
I had a Cavalier for 22 years. Towed caravan. Scrapped at 176,000 miles.
Still on original clutch

Good point, forgot to say only 39000 miles.
Bite point still nice and high too.
Not moved for 18 months. Partly due to Covid and partly due to took 6 months for log book to be processed by DVLA when they were at their worst.

if your bite point is high it could be the clutch need adjusting that is if it is cable operated my previous reply was more apt if it is hydraulic operated hope you get lucky

It's the good lady's car, just so happened to already have an A frame fitted too. I am surprised just how nippy it is and happily does 70mph without complaint. Would like to try the Abarth version one day.

They didn't.....
The new 500 is only a poor similarity of the original.
Half as big again, just like the modern mini, with modern engine and running gear.
My mate had an original back in the 70s and it may have had 4 seats but was really a two seater for very, very close friends.
