As anyone bought a duvalay sleeping system is there any better or the same but a bite cheaper, thank you.

I have been using one for a while but I find they can be awkward to sleep in as the Duvet that fits inside tends to "ruck up " if you toss and turn.I am now trying a sleeping bag again.

Made copies of them using a king size duet cover and a single duet and single mattress topper, very happy with them cannot compare with originals.

The Duvalay has driven us mental. We paid over £90 for them from GoOutdoors.
First time we used it the duvet came out of every corner and ended up as a lump in the middle. When we got home we took them out to find they were the cheapy type of polyester and the filling moved about so, we bought 10.5 tog cotton ones that had stitched panels, Plan B
Last week we came back and although better, still moved about inside the cover a bit so, Plan C.... Sorted out some Popper connecters. Three will go down each side of the duvet cover. The other three will go on each edge of the duvet itself. In theory it should stop them moving about.
Plan D will be - get rid of them and go back to sleeping bag and foam mattress under. Let's hope Plan C works then.

We bought ours from Go outdoors and they came with 10.5 tog quilts which was too warm. Contacted Duvaly and the nice girl who answered told us to buy single quilts from a shop of our choice at whatever tog we needed as theirs were £25 poly fibre and you can get better quicker and cheaper in Dunelms which is what we did and so much better for us.
if you sleep together, you effectively get a double thickness of quilt over 2/3rds of the bed with the overlap.

I hated my Duvalay. Even if it was half the price I would never touch one again.
Ended up with ridge across the middle, the cover worked it's way round and left a zip mark the length of my body most nights.

I personally wouldn't recommend them sadly.

Yet another case of "some hate them..could not live without them and some luv them".
Personally myself and
Mrs Poppycamper think Duvalay's are great....far better than any duvet or sleeping bags we have ever had.

A Marmite product for some then. Normal sleeping bags left me tide up in knots and with a normal duvet I used to get a cold backside as I sleep by the back doors of van. duvalay works for me except for one middling issue and that is sometimes cold feet because of the construction at the bottom, there is a section of material between the memory foam topper and the quilt which has no insulation properties at all. So if your feet touch the end they quickly get cold. I found this last Christmas in Norfolk.

Best thing we bought , if you don't get a good nights sleep you won't enjoy your van , they are expensive but they are the best

We bought a made to measure Duvalay Gold to fit our corner bed,(never used it),it was too heavy and made lifting the bed nearly impossible, its in the shed now,£200-00 of poorly spent money.

I know what you mean about getting cold. After the Duvalay failure I moved to a double sized duvet folded over. This solved the cold issue and the feet issue as I used duvet clips at the bottom corners.

Our 2 Duvalay single mattress toppers are about 15 years old and still going strong.

We use a double duvet on the bottom, & a king size on top - we found a mattress topper too heavy to put away.

Cheaper doesn't work in this case Duvalay kit is the mutts nuts & the quality speaks for itself.
We had them for our Eriba caravan and they were brilliant, we use them, when the grandkids come to stay and we need extra beds, on our sunloungers. Would never sell or give them away.

We are going to buy from Snuglux. Not cheap , about the same as Duvalay I think. The sleeping bags are excellent and it’s great as they are made to order and there is a vast choice of materials and colours . We have chosen a 400 thread Egyptian Cotton inner with a Cotton Percale outer. We looked at Duvulay but they were made with poly cotton and we like cotton inners.Good luck with whatever you choose, enjoy.

had our two a long longtime . Love ‘em

I hated them. Damned awkward to wash and re stuff. uncomfortable as bedding, heavy and bulky. We use regular duvets and are much happier. Summer weight and winter weight wool duvets from baa vets. So comfy. Let’s your body breathe and stay at optimum temperature.

We use a double duvet each folded in half..Covers easy to wash whist away..When we put the beds down the duvets folded in half twice just roll up and and put in a cloth drawstring bag..Make nice comfy bolsters for the end of the sofa.BUSBY.

Now that’s a good idea! Wonder if we could do that instead of fancy cushions provided? Got me thinking now! 😀

We use Duvalays - I find the idea great but the quality is crap.

Hugely over priced for what you get. The quilt they supply must be the cheapest thing man or woman has ever made.

I have had to re-stitched the seams of the envelope almost all over it now.

But for convenience I don't think you can beat it. Rolls up and stores easily. Comfortable at night. What more can u ask?

But if I needed to replace them I would buy a sewing machine and make my own. (y)

I bought one and found it ok in use, but when dismantled for washing, I found it had only an ordinary foam mattress. I had been expecting more of a memory foam which retains depressions for a short time.
I'd be interested to know if others found the same ?

Started out with the make it out of a stitched up double duvet cover, single duvet and some memory foam. Ok but cold feet sometimes. Not good enough for Mrs RoR who bought a full set from duvelay, so I bought a duvalay duvet cover and mattress, I had previously bought a Baavet duvet in their sale. It’s a great combination in my opinion. My pick and mix works best. Baavet are excellent esp in the colder months.

Not tried duvalay but wife and I had Vango double sleeping bag... Aurora I think is the model.. brushed cotton interior seriously warm throughout 3 season tent camping and huge kingsize. When weather improves completely zips into two halves to allow more airflow. Think they still make it and in a single xl version

I have one for a couple of years but the bought a new cover, in the middle of the night woke up wanting to claw my skin off, they must use a material dressing the irritated me badly, We washed it but hthe same so it might be a mould in the foam from lack of use recently. It has put me right off it now.

We use 2 single mattress toppers from Ikea and fitted them with removable sleeves made from sheets. We place them together and use a king sized duvet from Dunelm. Great nights sleep. In the morning we roll them up, strap them with a suitcase belt and pop them under the side seats.
