Afternoon all , I have a Bailey autograph and out of nowhere a yellow staining as appeared on the back panel and also on many of the caravans parked at the same storage site all Bailey models only appear to have the same problem?

Looks like someone has been cleaning nearby with a detergent and it has reacted with the plastic pigments that Bailey use for thier vans. I don't think you can get it back to white again
If it is a 71 van I would complain to your dealer and have Bailey sort it out.
But check with the storage site to see if there have been any chemicals used in the yard.

There are many Bailey models in storage there also with same staining

Interesting that it’s all low level and minimal on the upper part of the panel.
So unlikely to be the uv I suggested.
Is the site using some sort of chemical to keep the moss or weeds at bay!

I would agree with the above comment, that's the most logical explanation.

There is a lot of brown dead moss in the ground. I use moss killer on my house roof and that is exactly what happens to the moss.

I could simply be the type of polymer that Bailey use in the plastics.

If that was my 71 plate Bailey then I would be taking it to the dealer and asking the questions about why it has discoloured.
Then you may get evidence that it is chemical damage and can approach other owners and the storage facility as a group.

It's reacted with the Bailey vans because they all use the same grp and whatever chemical has been used it's reacted similarly with all the vans made of the same plastic.just check to see if they are all similar ages. But you also need to check with the site to see if they have used a spray to kill the weeds etc as suggested. Looks like they may have a big claim coming up when other folks see thier vans.

Apart from the cosmetic discolouration, but if this is a chemical reaction caused by an external weed or chemical treatment, has the grp affected now also been weakened or started the onset of plastic fatigue?
Not nice either way.
Hope it's nothing serious.

Over what time period have you noticed the change.
Has it been gradual or over a couple of weeks.

With a bit of flattery, ask if they [ storage yard] are able to recommend a good quality moss/ weed killer, as what they have used has been so effective, whereas what you use at home has not worked half as well, deceitful yes, but it might give an answer as to what they have used without arousing suspicions.

I think they will have a hard job denying fault when so many vans have been affected in one location and I haven't seen widespread reports of this happening elsewhere. So I think it is location specific and it wouldn't take an amazing lawyer to prove it.

you got a call on friday , so that indicates something has happened while at storage then.

Yes iam trying to get intouch with other storage users , there are at least 20 others it has affected

i would be speaking to the other affected owners as a number of voices are stronger than just one.
