Just driven off a campsite with the EHU attached. Only mitigating factor was a planned power cut at the campsite. Prior to leaving I looked at the control panel, saw no indication of electrons, assumed I had put away the cable and set off.

I have a little sign that I leave on the dashboard as a reminder when on hook up

I try and walk around the van before starting off, just to check we’ve picked up all our stuff and any rubbish, closed all windows and lockers. So far so good. But I guess past performance is not necessarily a guide to the future!,,

Like pilots do before taking off

I always walk round the mh before setting off. The one i might forget is the TV aerial.

Once put our fold away table under the Van when it started to rain. Drove off next morning leaving it behind. Went back to the camp site a year later (South of France) but nobody had handed it in.o_O I was so disappointed! (n)

I have ran over a few steps in my time

I'm obviously far better at cock ups than any of you. Done all those some more than once.

I haven't done it. Ever. Not twice, oh no. It was somebody else.

Drove off with EHU attached, elevating roof still up.....and grey water tap open:doh:

Done it on a site in France few years ago, wondered what that 25m orange snake following was. No damage luckily.

Ah the benefits to not using ehu or levelling ramps :)
I've on occasion left the tv Ariel up but it's only 150mm height difference so no biggy..

We have indoor and outside pre flight checks. I do the outside and walk around then double check inside cupboards. Brenda double checks my jobs. Between us it works well

I saw a chap reverse over the hook up point and flatten it ,then on same site a day or so later some one drove away with hook up still attached .

Mine was in temper when a Dutch women decided to light a blooming bbq right next to my gas locker! Didn’t want to burn her tent! Mine was Steadies. I stomped off to reception to get relocated, threw myself in the cab, all the time hubby just watching! Got a few feet, had to stop to retract them! Felt a real toot.

Same as @Lenny HB

Started to back up the drive and saw in the wing mirror Yvette yelling and waving her arms in the air and thought I was getting to close to the guttering on our bungalow so swung away a bit as I heard the ominous twang of the EHU lead parting company from the van.

I drove off a campsite in Cornwall once with a 6 metre flagpole and spinner zip tied to the rear ladder.

John.

How many times have I set off with a hab locker door, bathroom door or drawer open......too many

Listening to the slam, slam until I 'have to stop'......the worst is the cutlery drawer

friends of ours kept forgetting to lock the fridge door and several times redecorated the inside of their van with the contents of the fridge

I've done that when nipping to the fridge for a beer. Have to be quick at traffic lights before they change. It's much easier when the missus is with me, so that she can go for me :)

This thread reminded me of a silly tanker driver who drove off with 30 feet of hose and a pump on large wheels still attached, the whole issue was swinging wildly on the cobbled road and he didnt stop until he had reached the dock gate .

If you do something regular one time for sure you will forget. Especially if it’s a repetitive job.

I did it leaving home on holiday once and realised 5 miles up the road and just as I was about to make it into a lay-by a lorry caught me up and drove over it breaking it in two!

I left the wife in a services once when we had our first van many years ago I got out for a pee and she was asleep in the back.
I got back in the van happely driving along when I looked in the mirror no wife.
That was abut two hrs after my toilet brake.
It was a long time before I was forgiven.
