Hi, our daughter is hoping to buy 2 new automatic garage roller doors. She’s asked if I can use the Funster hive mind for advice....

Has anyone got experience of either SWS Securoglide Original roller door or Hormann RollMatic Door? She’s in Somerset. Big investment for her and she’s feeling torn between these two and slightly pressured by the companies involve.

any help gratefully appreciated thanks.

Hormann are highly regarded in the trade👍 Cousin fits doors so when I wanted a new door about 10 years ago that's what I got and fitted myself. No problems upto moving 👍

Dawn we had the Hormann it was really good we only took it out when we had the integral garage converted into two rooms.
Max would have like to have fitted it to his new garage but unfortunately it wouldn’t fit.
We advertised it on Facebook market place and we were inundated with would be purchasers.

We used Easyfit for two made to measure electric roller doors for our garages.
Very pleased with the results
They also offer a supply and fit service

We had a Crocodile roller shutter garage door fitted six years ago and no a single problem, I was able to get a really good price as they had another job in our area.😊

Our one came from Easyfit as well, German made, very good quality, aluminum insulated slats it's been in 11 years now always works perfectly. Fitted it myself a fairly easy job.
When we bought it in 2010 it was £1060 for a door 3.8m wide x 2.3m high including the remote & back box options.

We have a large double electric roller garage door, had it fitted some 15 years ago.
Still looks good, not a moments trouble, it's a Merlin door. Believe they are manufactured in Ireland.

Stay clear of Crocadile. Modern day cowboys. There advert on tv is so convincing but they are a sell it and forget it mob. Local guy got 2 singles fitted by them and they are now wrecked and lying on his drive after 7 months. Now going to be a court case. A good brand means nothing if the fitters haven't a clue.

You don't say where your daughter lives but if she is in South Wales I can highly recommend D Hughes roller doors in Merthyr. They are a family business mostly making industrial doors but they do make and fit garage rollers. Very reasonable prices and great service. I've had about 20 doors off them over the years.
