Due to a change to our plans for this August

Can anyone recommend any sites in the South France area...

.

Thanks for the heads up, looking for a site rather than aires as we are having (hopefully) a short trip 👍

South of France + August

= Expensive, hot, crowded etc.

Good luck (y) ;)

Personally I would go central France and avoid the coast. Some nice Lakes around with man made beaches.

This is a nice site close to Port Grimaud.

We are on the aire in Saint Maxime now which is one of our favourites, I know it’s not a campsite but well worth a visit!

I am honestly, but hope you have a wonderful time... Enjoy life.. make precious memories. Some of the happiest days of my life were in Port Grimaud. .

We worked a long very hot 2017 here in Port Grimaud.

They have done the camping pitches up since then, all with new personal toilet and shower room. €80 to €100 a night high season with a minimum 5 night stay

Great for Port Grimaud, St Maxime, St Tropez
English owned

We love this area. Tomorrow we are off 5 miles up the coast to see a friend for a few days. Its busy but not as much as usual for this time of year.

We love St Remy de Provence, a bit inland from the coast but a stunning little town with a few good campsites.

Is this hot enough?

If going to grussain near narbonne - take a trip to homps - lovely canal setting

A number of camp sites and an aire on the beach at Pamplonne just west of St Tropez

Camping les Fontaines... at Pernes-les-Fontaines... South of Carpentras.
nice pitches 1/2 mile to Intermarche, town has a walking tour of the fountains ...normally anyway!

A second vote for St Remy-en-Provence, especially on market day.

Avignon is also a good bet.

Forgot to say that the area is nowhere nearly as crowded as usual, that is the sites nor Towns and beaches very pleasant

Camping le plage Port Grimaud we are making our way down there this week. Site is right on the beach over looking St Tropez short walk to port Grimaud. First row if pitches on the beach . Will need to book i would expect.

Thanks everyone some great advice and locations, appreciate the recommendations, think we need to plan a tour instead of a short trip, decisions, decisions, if only we had more time this year, maybe next year....

Well jealous, been down to port Grimaud in 2005 in the static caravans, lovely place, went onto the place where all the restaurants are on the marina, Mrs Westy got stopped going in cos she only had a wrap round skirt and a bikini top on (Brazen hussey😂😂)
Might venture down there in sept if I can’t get to Croatia!!
Ps BossHog love the avatar, my favourite Harley a 36 knuck followed by a 58 Duo Glide😍😍😍

Any suggestions for Central France then? Cheers.

Try Port La Nouvelle if you like heat and you can drive right onto the sandy beach and get anoverall tan! Colyboy
