The clue's in the definition - "An afternoon rest or nap, especially one taken during the hottest hours of the day in a hot climate'

So, has to be after noon (midday)

Look...

Life is complicated.

I am lounging in my swivelled around cab seat having already done one hour's worth of manual labour on my estate and trying to choose between...

1) Going for a cooling shower.

2) Making another cup of coffee.

3) Cooking egg, bacon, sausage and tomato for brunch.

4) Having another backgammon session.

5) Taking a stroll up to the wooded area and checking locations for a possible tree house.

6) Going to sleep.

It will be brilliant next month when my Princess is with me and I will have help with all these wretched decisions.

2200hrs! never mind this Johnny Foreigner thingee "Siesta" We didn't get an EMPIRE "siestaing" Work thro the midday, Mad Dogs and etc etc etc!

Standards! dear boy, Standards !!!! must be maintained!!!

Although! you profess to be a Colonial American thingee! so I guess , well, in your case, standards will slip,

But! WILL, be frowned upon in "proper society"

Anytime JJ because whilst it may be
740am in the UK as I type this its
1140am on Amsterdam Island
140pm in Bangkok
440pm in Sydney
6.40pm on Baker Island
1040pm in Anchorage

so no matter what time you nap it will be 1pm-3pm somewhere in the world (y)(y)(y)(y)(y)(y)(y)

and not being funny why do you need to justify it to anyone including yourself??? If your body is telling you its time for a siesta then have one (y)(y)(y)(y)(y)

"WE"?

What's with this "we" nonsense.

Didn't the fine, upstanding, world conquering British army and navy bravely take on your spear wielding locals and win, despite only having guns?

Took them five Maori wars to do it , and it was the 66th Regiment from Rutland "The Royal Tigers" that finally overcame, with the help of one Von Tempski, a swiss national, one of the first dozen or so V C winners.
In one of the battles in Taranaki, the local rebel "invited the Brits to come a fight, the Colonel of the regiment said "Sorry it's winter, the road is impassable" So the Maori Rangatira had his tribe labouring all winter to improve the road. When spring came, the Brits went out, and using the new road Whopped their arse:doh::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

This is a side of the England versus Cornwall rivalry which seems to have escaped the history books. And here was me thinking their only plan was to kill the English off with diabetes and obesity from eating too many Cornish pasties.

Really!

But who is your Queen Daddy O?

JJ
THE Queen around here is "Candi" used to be "Trever" 1.85 metres high and an axe handle cross the shoulders, wears a pelmet and drives a Mini

:doh:or:doh: could be:cooler: drives a pelmet and wears a mini, it's late:RollEyes:

OH!!! that Queen, Betty Sax- Coberg you mean  so how come you North American Colonials are interested in Betty then?

British by genetics and American by birthright.

Apparently the latter was down to faulty contraception!

While my (very) British parents were in Washington DC, they had no intention of making a little JJ but "Man Plans And God Laughes" and here I am... proud owner of two of the most sought after passports in existence but owing everything to a leak.
