Long time
Yesterday we took the dog for a walk.
Half way I didn’t feel well.
I was shaking, wobbly, felt a bit unreal & worst of all my heart felt like it was making a bid for freedom.
Back to the van for a cuppa.
My body didn’t settle so we went to the ER room!
Heart rate-220 bpm & erratic.
BP very high.
So after some horrible injections, think they may have been chemically interrupting heart beat to get it to stabilise & a drug thinning jab it eventually dropped.
Took about 5 hours tho and is still very erratic!
I spent the night in A&E covered in stickers & wires with machines buzzing & beeping all around me, no sleep tho!
Can go home later today with loads of meds I expect!
I feel fine now & ready to gooooooo!

Oooher, not nice. Hope it all settles and is ok.

Not good, hopefully there will be follow up's to get to the bottom of it, glad its fine now(y)

Frightening situation but glad you're recovered.
Hope it's resolved for you

200bpm...!!
Even I dont get that excited on my birthday ;)

Glad it's sorted and your feeling better. (y) Hope they get to the bottom of why it happened and nothing to serious..

I am so sorry you are :sick:

Overnight with all the machines and beeps and squeaks = no rest. I hope they do follow through and find out what happened - but once they release you please take it easy for a day or two and get plenty of rest.

Sorry to hear about your problems but, at least, medics are alert to it now.

Best wishes for a full recovery.

Hope you’re feeling better and sorted soon .

Scary situation, hope everything stabilised soon for you.

Trust they’ve stabilised you now. Whereabouts are you? Which hospital did you end up at?

Get well soon

Ken & Lynda

Thanks all for your sympathies.
I was in Bedford A&E they were brilliant, there was a lot of support and just that made me feel ok.
I’m on meds now for the fast & erratic beat and blood thinning.
I have to attend outpatients for a heart scan and something else-fancy name!
Anyway time will tell!
I had a glorious sleep last night-no beeping monitors or BP cuffs cutting my arm in half!!!!
Thanks again.

As @Stealaway says you have had symptoms of a heart problem and that is something that is obviously upsetting but is also the road to receiving all the treatment you need to get you fit and well for the long term.
Don't want to appear to preach but do follow the medics advice, do make sure you get all the follow ups you need, take the tablets, take care of yourself and just remember in these situations (in some ways) it can be more stressful for those very close to you.
Just take care, I'm sure we all are thinking of you.

Scary or what.....hospital can sometimes be a very reassuring place and our wonderful NHS does look after you well especially with heart problems....take good care of yourself, follow their directions, you'll be well before you know it.

Really scary stuff but glad you're ok now. I had a similar experience when I was 15....discovered I was allergic to cheese!

Glad you're getting help, sounds like you had a bout of atrial fibrillation, I was initially diagnosed with this after an ECG recorded my heartbeat was over 155 at rest.
But, after further investigation I was told I had 3rd stage heart failure & was rushed into hospital where I spent a week in the cardiac unit.

I'm home now but have to take it easy, Have been a little better every day but it's a long job.
Worst thing for me is the side effects of the medication.
