I feel relaxed in fact I feel fine.
I do run out of energy quickly and I think my confidence has taken a knock. We always think we are indestructible it comes as a shock to find we’re not!
I just want the tests & scans now to see why!

I am glad you are over the symptoms, but understand you want to know why.

I had a similar occurence a couple of years ago. It was put down to dehydration, maybe partly alcohol induced. I am not suggesting the alcohol bit in your case, but if you think back could it have been caused by dehydration? - remember things like coffee can cause a lot of fluid discharge.

Just think back and advise the medics whether it might, or might not, have contributed - they need all information.

Loss of confidence is natural but is incredibly tiring and takes time to overcome, but day by day you will get it back. Tests and scans and the consequent results seem to take forever but in reality it's usually quite quick. Stay relaxed it's the best thing you can do.

I drink enough water and know it wasn’t dehydration.
I may drink a mug of coffee occasionally think the last one was over a week ago! Specialist ruled out caffeine & booze.
It’s an electrical problem with the heart, sort of like hiccups! The firing order slips and the top chambers don’t push the blood thru to the bottom chambers properly, that’s what she-Doc-explained to me at 2am!
I think it’s amazing really how the heart works, it’s a very sophisticated pump!

Sounds as if you're feeling well again thankfully(y). Anything "wrong" in the chest cavity is worrying , and human nature makes us think "what if". You went to the right place and various tests were performed.
Agree with your comment about sophisticated pump , wish my Shureflo in the van was as dependable:D.
Put off your trip to the top of Everest until spring , and try to relax(y)(y)(y)(y).

3 years of weekending with the odd month here and there.
I had a similar episode last February 14th then again in March 29th - scared the bejabers out of me. BP 264/188 and pulse at 255 but varying wildly. Both due to a rogue electrical connection in my heart, I was apparently born with it but it had never bothered me until then. Both times the docs carried out a cardio-version which means that they stopped my heart (under anaesthesia) and restarted it to get the proper rhythm back. Diagnosis is Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome. I now take a blood thinner twice daily but it's completely gone (touch wood) with no recurrence since.
Good luck and wishing you a speedy recovery.

Mini update...
Just had an echocardiogram this PM, the person (Doc or Technician) said he couldn’t see anything to worry about!
Going for Blood Tests on Monday then hopefully we will know more and be able to carry on with our life.....ie: going to France for the winter!
Fingers crossed.

Yes France does bekon-probably in a week or so’s time.
Doc this morning said all my tests etc are clear so the Arrhythmias I experienced was just a sort of ‘hic-cup’
I have to stay on the meds but NHS will only give me 2months prescription! So I have to find a Doc in France! :)

Update.
Had scans, tests etc. Cardiologist said there was nothing to find, probably just a ‘hiccup’ but as I was fairly fit was the reason I recovered quickly and had no after effects!
Still on the Edoxoban-blood thinner & Bisoprolol-heart beat stabiliser. Saw the Cardiologist the other day and he advised me to ‘get to know my pulse’ so I’m doing that & it’s ok, mostly a good rhythm but with the odd miss or extra beat.
He can’t be too worried as he’s discharged me but said he won’t be surprised if I get another AF!!!
Oh joy, something to look forward to.
Now I do breathing excercises at least twice a day, they’re supposed to re-boot the Vagus nerve that stimulates the firing of the heart, and when we walk uphill I push myself to work harder at it! All good fun!

Take care , as you said way back on first post , we all think we can do more than we actually can.
I tried to change the engine battery today , gave up breathless due to strange shapes I was pulling . Took it to a nearby garage and had them change it. They know me and said no charge , gave the guy £20 for a beer. When I got home I said to the wife , "if that bloody battery needs changed again , I'm changing the van instead":D:D
Once again look after yourself.

Have a look on the internet at problems with your heartbeat caused by a hiatus hernia. I suffered from af for some time and my specialist after doing all the tests proclaimed that my heart and arteries were absolutely fine but the af was "just one of those things" that was obviously being brought on by something but he didn't know what. His best guess was some type of food or drink but that wasn't too difficult to work out as I tended to get it after drinking any kind of fizzy drink or eating creamy or spicy food. With a hiatus hernia stomach acids can splash out of the hole in your diaphragm and touch the vagus nerve, hence the "short circuiting" of your electrical system or at least that's how its explained on line, but when you speak to a doctor about the possibility the best you will get is "oh, that's an interesting theory that I haven't heard of before" or "well I guess that's a possibility". All I can say is that since I have stopped drinking fizzy drinks, cut back on cream and cut out chillies completely and encompassed acid reflux remedies my af has pretty much disappeared. If I eat a lot of bread (French holidays!) then I get the odd tiny flutter but they disappear after the bread has gone down. Looking at the evidence it all seems totally logical to me and whilst in the States they seem to freely accept hiatus hernias as a cause of af (and 60% of older men have them) over here our doctors don't seem to have even thought of the possibility. See what you think.

After two lots of blood clots. And some very funny heart beats. My body certainly reacts to fizzy drinks and currys. I have had to change my blood thinners . I can give up the fizz but not the currys.
