More likely the safety dump valve near the boiler.
Floor mounted valve with a yellow or possibly red lever.
Or is this what you mean? Stupid place to put it if so.

If it’s the fresh water tank you are speaking about, generally if the tap is horizontal it is closed and if vertical it is open.Hope this helps,if not try maybe a picture or a little more info.Good luck.

If you have a Truma boiler which heats the water and provides warm air heating, then the dump valve is probably mushroom shaped. Pull it up and it will be in the closed position. If it doesn't stay up, then the ambient temperature is too low ie. less than 8C. Warm up the compartment by putting the boiler on warm air mode. After say 15 minutes you should then be able to close the dump valve.
PS. If you have a gas fire and not warm air, then ignore the above.

there is a badly placed dump valve on our fresh water tank. i have bought an electrically controlled valve that i will fit under the van. then its as simple as pressing a button to empty the tank when needed
