Firstly, I stopped overnight at a smallish Cepsa service station on the motorway just outside Cadiz heading for Sevilla (having fuelled up) and found it had free wifi reaching the parking place.

I wonder if, like McDs, many other Cepsa stations have the same...

Secondly, the (free) Android app "GPS coordinates converter" (found in the Playstore) solves any problems regarding the format of your longitude and latitude position.

Enter any position in one format and it gives you that position in the other two formats.

Very clean and easy to use converter.

Dull, cold and damp here right now... I am off back to Portugal.

Happy motorhoming everyone...

Is Cold and damp here in Portugal as well which is a pity as we are here in Amacao de pera for the festival.

Thanks for the tip on the GPS converter.

No doubt the sunshine will follow you JJ.:cooler::cooler: Hope so anyway.

What does this do, why would you need to convert ? what are the other two formats ? would you not just get info off your sat nav ?
Confused !

Confused !
There are three systems in use
Deg/Mins/Seconds
Decimal degrees
Degree/decimal minutes
Different aires books use different systems, camperstop and all the aires both use different systems, enter the wrong format and you will never get where you want to be.

As Wildman says above... my TomTom only reads one format.

So if, instead of knowing the address of the place I want to go to, I only have the coordinates in decimal degrees, I need to convert the information into degrees, minutes and seconds so I can put it into my TT sat nav.

I hope this helps.

That`s about as clear as the Higgs Boson, if I had GPS coordinates how would I know what type I had and what type I needed ?
What does my Tom Tom use ?
Apologies for sounding like a numptie !
Chris

3 different formats for GPS (there is actually about 1600)!
Putting it simply, same as currency..
Pounds stg/euro/US Dollar....
You enter either and it converts to the other two..... So
If you enter coordinates from ANY guide, in any format, the app will give you a format that your GPS can use.
Hope that makes sense.
