Yesterday's Dog Show put on by Pam and Mick was great. Over 20 dogs took part and they all got on champion. The categories were...Most Obedient, Most Mischievous, Cutest, Best Lookalike. This was followed by Kangaroo Derby to find the King and Queen of the Bush.

Thanks Graham for the taxi ride to the station and the large percentage donation to the air ambulance. (y) Also thanks to the two ladies in the taxi for passing on the details of Bordeaux's red light district to John, Angela and I. Always good to get first hand information.:D2

@JaG For the first time ever we got caught in a horrendous traffic jam on the A13 out of Rouen :( Took a different route but found that was just as bad:(:( Means that we didn't get as far south as we had planned and are currently on the Aire at Pont de l'Arche.

So I don't think we will it make tomorrow but hopefully Thursday now (y)

At this rate you will all have gone by the time we get there

Thanks everyone for a great time this week. Pity about the weather but not a lot we can do about that. Just sorry I missed trying the fishing. The kangaroo racing made up for it though! Heading north for the ferry on Sunday.
Don't know if any of you know but I've got to go back to work next week!

Many thanks to Graham and all the rest that have put in a tremendous effort to make this a successful meet despite weather. Also to Gary and staff for their hospitality.

We had a great time and with a central pitch got to talk to some interesting people and made some new friendships and learned to play boule, (looking forward to a rematch next year Ronald!)

We've made it as far south as a French Passion just outside of Toulouse for the night. Clear sky's and around 24c now at 7pm

Again all the best to the rest and have a wonderful second week

Alistair & Bets

Thanks for an enjoyable time @JaG Jean and Graham and other marshals. @dabhand Simon you did a great job singing with some help from Ken, maybe next time they'll give you a seat so you don't have to stand all night. Also thanks to @Larby for helping me with my engine problem, it's starting every time at the moment!

Shame about the weather though.

A very emotional day today where the ladies of the meet fished their hearts out to win the Marlene Trophy..in memory of Marlene, the greatest fisherwoman and lady ever to grace Twin Lakes.
Congratulations to Pam who caught 24 fish in two hours with her mentor Keith.
Thank you especially to Dirk Lapin, Marlene's husband for presenting the trophy.
The biggest fish was caught by Lynda, a 5lb Carp.
Thank you to Kevan for organising the event, to all of the mentors and helpers and to all the ladies who took part.
