Are the services on the M20 at Folkestone still a decent place to park up for the night. We will be arriving back at 8pm through the tunnel and want to have a good kip before driving home. Or any alternatives? Don't want Black Horse Farm though. Something cheap or a pub carpark. Don't need services.

I wouldn’t park there. It’s busy all night with the 24hr McDonalds and favorite meeting point for the Luton vans on Eastern European plates to shift cargo around at all hours.

Maybe for future reference, we stay the night before in France - we’re at Graveline at the moment with just two other vans- then an earlyish tunnel and most of the day to drive home.
Can't fault you 👍 👍 ;)

What’s the best route from Dover rd park and ride to Eurotunnel?
We've tried various routes over the years.....
Favourite used to be...
Out of the P&R, first exit from the Old Gate Inn roundabout, down Old Dover Road. First left onto A 2068 and don't turn off until you reach Jct 11 of the M20. Join the motorway towards Dover and leave at next jct, 11A. You're now at the entrance to the Terminal.
This is the fastest and most direct but over the years the road surface seems to have got worse and the trees on either side seem, I'm my view, to be encroaching on the road. It always seems very busy at rush hour.

The route we use now is to leave the P&R, all the way round the roundabout and take the A2050 towa rds Dover. This joins the A2 for Dover. Take the A260 to Hawkinge which has a bypass. Here you will pick up the road signs for the Tunnel.

Simply follow these signs on the A260 until you cross over the A20 when you turn left and follow the signs for both the M20 and the Tunnel.

Join the A20 which almost immediately becomes the M20. Leave M20 at jct 12 back onto A20. There is a Tunnel sign at every junction you come to so just keep following them and you will arrive at the entrance to the terminal.

It took us about 35 mins from the P&R the first time we used the route.

The second route looks and is a little more complicated but the fact it is well signed really makes it simple.

Good Luck

If you park on the M20 services overnight you will have to pay or incur a parking ticket. Thought they were 2 hrs max on the services.
Canterbury every time for us.
Water and dump available.
