Has anyone recently had a towbar fitted to a Fiat CCS Chassis and can tell me the cost . Just had an eye watering price here ! But maybe it is the normal price !!! If so it’s bite the bullet time :-(

A quick Google search put one at 150 quid i expect that is for a van. Is yours a coach built? £800 to 1300

Just had one fitted to my IH panel van conversion £329 for tow bar supplied and fitted

Had a Witter towbar fitted to our coachbuilt on a FIAT Ducato chassis.

The towbar required a chassis extension kit as well and we paid for the “pukka” Ducato matched electrics and removable tow ball. The cost.......

£1080 including fitting and VAT.

The chassis kit is the expensive item if required especially when fitting labour is included.

Bund to be .A) you are in France so I would expect the same as here it has to be not only homologated but B) added to the log book
I paid 480€ just for a standard transit van bar a few months back

Circa £375 ish

Excellent Quality at an affordable price.
If France is like here in Spain unless he can supply the homologation A4 paper & another " certified installer" paper in French then it wouldn't be legal.

I'd guess at around 480>600€ for the bar then + electrics & then the fitting cost + vat so I'd guess at a main dealers in France at 108€/hour (2 hrs) probably around 880€ + vat ?

Gus is correct it will need adding to your carte gris and also you'll need technical inspection at your local service des automobiles.

Had mine done last year on a 2012 Ducato, was around £1650 but labour is expensive here.

LNB in Bristol quoting £650 for a fixed, and £850 for a removable......steep, but company comes highly recommended.

That’s to fit on a new Sunlight Cliff 600 PVC.

Worth having the removable? Can’t see me bothering to take it off to be honest. (y)

I made my own pre EU rules.
Cost around £40 for materials and £20 to have the bits welded into one big bit.... I don't trust my welding to that extent.

Parky ( see previous post) £350 inc electrics UK) EU compliant £500 including certificate! Made to measure

Depends on age of base vehicle if pre 2013 anyone can weld the steel together plenty of reasonable companies can do it from £350 + electrics upwards. If post 2013 full eu spec towbar has to be fitted Paperwork worth more than towbar.

Hymer fitted a Brink removable on on our MoHome. Including wiring it was £880. If you have VW Transporter VW changed the wiring loom on the T6 if you buy an aftermarket Loom you may have issues, the VW Loom is £713 fitted, and the removable tow bar is £501 so slightly eye watering, Makes Hymer look cheap but don't tell them ;)

Fixed means your reversing sensors do not know how far out that tow bar is....Removable the Van looks neater and your within design range of the sensors (if that makes sense)

Reversing camera, no sensors. (y)

It’s a brand new Panel Van Conversion......Sunlight is part of the Hymer group.

Indeed they are and truly hope you enjoy yours as much as we enjoy ours (y)

£570 fitted to Burstner 6M PVC with vehicle specific electrics could have got it fir £320 with bypass relays. Wanted the proper electrics that pl G into the CamBus. Went for a fixed as long wait for removable and reading in here the removable a can be low to the ground.

All sounds relatively cheap
Recently
Quoted £900 including 13 pin electrics for my coachbuilt.
£1300 if it needed basis extensions which thankfully I don’t.

Had mine fitted yesterday by Mick but the cost was a bit more than you quote as my Hobby needed chassis extensions but all handled by Mick. Including electrics now £675.
All done in a half day visit despite the cul de sac being dug up due to new gas main being laid. However there is a new road from the M55 to Freckleton to help simplify the journey. Mick is the man for towbars!
