The Westys are off to ScandinaviašŸ‘šŸ‘

He could have at least had the decency to remove it with Magic Eraser. 🤣

Is this better.

Or, you could use ā€œMagic Imposerā€ to create a nice ā€œselfieā€. As we knowā€¦ā€¦ā€The camera never liesā€!

How on earth do you do this??

For all we know Lenny HB you don’t have a van at all, you just take pictures and import a new Carthago into them🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Can anyone swap my Carthago for a Morelo/Hymer Grand Canyon/two axle overlander on these pictures then, just so I can make my mind up on the next van??Don’t forget my number plate🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

You don’t want one of those cheap Morelo or Hymer things. :ROFLMAO: This should be more to your liking………

Imagine the bill for 14 new tyres (tires).

Might be a bit tricky on the NC500…or those tunnels in Norway.

Mr AI seems to have forgotten to add steps for the rear hab door.

So we have been on the lofotens, a bit underwhelming if I’m honest, then again the weather was crap, I think GlenCoe is better, then again the bits we’ve seen is like Glencoe on repeat for hours. Still not feeling Norway to be honest🄓🄓

It is to some, Austria and Switzerland beat it hands down for beauty!! But hey ho I’ve been and seen and at least I know I don’t have to return😁
Was talking to a couple who had just been to trondheim, cheapest parking was around €65 a night so we’ll be giving that a swervešŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ‘šŸ‘

Austria is fab, Switzerland not so much, their tendency to build awful modern tower blocks in beauty spots does my head in šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ„¶šŸ‘€

I was about to post about the MH aire in the centre of the city, which was about £25 a night when we were there in 2024, but just looked it up on SfS, and they say it's 675 NOK now which works out about £53. Mind you, the exchange rate was pretty favourable when we were there.

I absolutely love Norway though. Maybe it's the weather that's "clouding" your views, but we think it makes Scotland look like the Lincolnshire Wolds in places. Getting away from the main roads also helps, going meandering along minor roads through little villages. We spent two and a half months meandering from Kristiansand to Bodo, across to Lofoten and up to Narvik. Then thought we'd better get a wriggle on to get back to Hook of Holland via Malmƶ and Copenhagen before the EU decided we'd overstayed. Went back on Hurtigruten last January to visit the far north. Hope we can go back again soon.

Yes and tbh we think we’d love to come back on the hurtigruten. We are also coming back that way via the bridge, but we are getting off the ferry at BodĆø at dinner time and we are heading in the direction of Kristiansand as Mrs Westy wants to do the funny bridge, so we will see what that part of Norway bringsšŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘

Heck. You're really shifting along. Don't forget you're retired now and can slow down a bit. šŸ˜€

Make sure you enter Kristiansund with a "U' into your satnav and not Kristiansand with an "A" as you typed above otherwise you're going to miss out the funny bridge on the the Atlantic Highway and all the western fjords! šŸ˜€

One of the reasons i've followed this particular thread is i knew the reports would be honest and informative, not i'm here so it's wonderful.
At the start indeed it was wonderful, and probably still is.
I'm guessing it's down to weather and length of time in one country that may cause a bit of boredom?
It will come good again.

We visited there in 2024. Very interesting, especially about the Hurtigruten fleet's aquisition by the Germans in WW2 and the subsequent targeting by the Allies.

Hurtigruten told me that they will not take MHs.

Please explain, because I would love to go north from Bergen, hop off at several ports for a day or two and hop back on next ferry. I know they do not stop at every port every day, but frequent enough if one plans it.

You can do a cruise on the hurtigruten from Bergen to Kirkenes and back to Bergen stopping off at a lot of ports
Have a look at this Geoff.

Well today was an odd onešŸ¤” boarded the ferry at moskenes this morning, got off a BodĆø and set off for Mo I Rana and we got as far as 5 miles above the arctic circle and come across this lovely old chap (Austrian) who was in a bit of bother

Of course we stopped and offered help and got the strops out and waited with him for the Norwegian adac to come out to him, but before they got there a 7.5 tonner pulled up, I fixed the strops on and he pulled him outšŸŽ‰
So that’s my good deed done for the day.
Little did I know that the arctic circle was 5 miles up the so we pulled in and decided to stay the night
