I think I've got it figured now. absolutely nobody waves if the weather is miserable. nobody waves on motorways and I alone wave at bread vans and buses that pretend to be motor homes.

I have now developed a style of waving that looks like a wave but morphs into a nose pick if there is no response.

I wish someone would wave at me. Since getting a PVC no one waves!

No one waved when we had a pvc, I think because it just looked like a van from the front, now we have a coach built nearly every other motorhomer waves, we love it and so did our grandson when we took him away last week.
I admit to waving when I am in my car too.

Keep waving x

I always wave back ,but find it frustrating when my waves are blanked!

I can't be the only one who can morph a wave into a one fingered salute ,can I ? :whistle2:

Everyone driving a camper overseas waves, seems to be the done thing.
We always wave unless otherwise distracted, it's a happy to be out in the van thing:D

I wave when I remember that I am supposed to wave ..... sometimes I just daydream, I am the passenger. Phew! Maybe the non wavers are just daydreaming like me.
My husband waves most of the time he is more alert!

My wife really goes for it and we came across an equally enthusiastic waver in Somerset on Thursday night. It was a lady driving the other m/h and it was big waves and big smiles.(y)

Sooooooooooooo

I have always been a big fan of waving..
BUT !

Bikers wave or nod at each other

Smartie drivers wave at each other

I have lost count of the times I have been in / on the 'wrong' mode of transport for the appropriate recipient of my wave !

If you ever see someone on a bike or in a Smartie waving at you in the MH, it is proly just me !!

:D

Found the opposite here. & all the way up tp the UK last year it was only in the northern part of France where literally any coming the other way waved. Put it down to all just coming off the crossings !

Look out your window Carol.
I am waving at you now :)

For fun we count how many MH waves we get and how many we dont. Easter weekend saw far too many on the mway and stopped counting.

On our way back from the Isle Of Wight last week we saw so many campers that I was waving every other vehicle :D. Oh and I don't know if it was someone on here, we got a very enthusiastic wave from another Sundance 630L as we drove on the A31 through the New Forest :-)

I have been known to wave at a Tesco Home Delivery van!

Had a good blether with a Tesco delivery driver delivering some supplies to us at a site in D & G and he thought it was great that motorhomers regularly waved at him when out on his rounds.
At first he thought how strange. How do they know I've got a motorhome at home? And then the penny dropped! "They're daft pillocks like I am when out in it and can't tell the difference".

Thanks Sandra, I'll be expecting a wave now whenever we meet up.

Always wave (ex coach driver) often wave at delivery vans and minibuses

It's fun when you go to and from a rally because every vehicle is a Motorhome. I just keep waving to tease.

A few weeks ago I was heading back up from Newton Abbot late Sunday afternoon. Loads of MoHo passed by and I waved at most of them before realising they were mainly single dealer drivers heading home after the Exeter show. No wonder there were not many waving back!

It takes me back to when my parents had a Beetle in the early seventies as the owners would also wave to each other. My Grandad had a Reliant Regal and they did too
