Funsters beware is you are coming to Spain in the near future and you have medical reasons not to ware a mask then forget it or be fined.
We have been here in Benicarlo for the past 2 weeks and on the site is a elderly couple from Harrogate, the wife has an exemption certificate from her UK Doctor and a lanyard stating that she is mask exempt. The site had warned her that she must ware a mask at all times, it is the law and last week the local Police stopped along side them when they were in town, they received a strong dressing down, however she still continued and today has been spotted without a mask by the Guardia Civil and FINED €200. The even escorted her and her husband to the nearby cash point to collect the money. She has been warned that as they now have her details, if seen again without one she will end up in court.

I think it’s right, really don’t get why so many are exempt here or claim they are 🤔

shop floor workers are my biggest beef, put them out the back or furlough them, if exempt surely they are at greater risk of infection

I am sure there are a few genuine ‘can’t wear’ cases, but in the main they will also be isolating I would think

I think right from the start there has been a real reluctance by some to wear masks maybe because they realise that it largely benefits other people
I've always been told that each of us is "the other one" for the rest of the population and so it is on the road too!

And, it's me uman rites not to wear one. Or, I have to be different have to have some 'ism that stops me breathing if I so much look at a mask.

Genuine cases do exist of course - in the need to balance.

They meet Thursday and discuss not making obligatory to wear a mask from the 26th June, but I can assure you that the rules will be strict, and failing to abide by them will cost you. 🙂

This is Spain and although many get away with breaking laws, the ones they capture pay for it, 😉 so when someone says no problem I've been doing it for years, it's the biggest problem they have ever had when they are caught. 😁
You don't wear a mask on your pitch, but go into toilet blocks you wear a mask, you leave the beach you put a mask on, although the other day I saw published 62% of the Valencia community have been jabbed, and most had the second Pfizer 3 weeks later, we wear a mask in respect for those that haven't, and for us after a year it's no problem. 😁

The last time we visited the UK people looked at us as if we were aliens, and we are not expecting any difference this visit in July and August. :Eeek:   Bob.

It's more to do with how unpleasant they are to wear and the knowledge that the way people wear them is so unhygienic, they don't protect.

Fair enough.
Their house, their rules.
If you don't like it, you can leave.

I wish the UK had administered the same rules from the start.
Anyone with a mask exemption certificate, means they have some sort of respiratory issue, should be shielding at home.
They should not be out and about in town or in non-essential shops.

if they were warned by the site, then well enough to be in town, either walking along or in a wheelchair, then surely she’s well enough to wear a visor if a mask is uncomfortable.

Their country, their rules so deserves everything she gets.

I’m british so exempt 😭 Yeah right 😉

Ever since lighting was by Calor gas.
In my Tesco yesterday whilst I was taking a product off the shelf two huge shabby women about the size of Munich and not wearing masks shoved me aside. "Shouldn't you be wearing masks?" I enquired. Their tirade of foul language is unprintable but the gist of it was that (expletives omitted) since their Benefits have been cut her daughter gets stressed and anyway she herself gets arthritis and no-one's going to tell them what to do.
"I'm sorry" I acquiesced "but I thought that if you were exempt you carried a badge that said so". Another disgusting tirade followed.
I happened to see them loading their 20 reg 4x4 as I walked back to my car and yep, it was in a disabled bay without a blue badge.
They walk among us, sadly.

Simple answer " you may be but not in here" " out you go and if you return with exemptions I'll apologise"

That could be because there's no UK requirement for any form of proof of exemption..... Well open to abuse.

Mask will hamper their need to shovel junk food down their throats and smoke themselves to an early death.

As unfortunate as it is for the couple in question, I'm not exactly sure what the surprise is here? "English couple fail, despite multiple warnings, to adhere to local laws and gets fined for it"??

They either have to take you to where you are staying ,police station and it has to be paid by card. A receipt must be issued. All traffic officers have or can request a card machine instantly.
Thr info is out there but unfortunately I have lost all mine when we cleaned the lap top last week.
What is also unclear is why the fine was 200€?
It is either80,100 or 135€ dependent on area. Or she was fined for previous offence also?
It
Isn't hard with a UK exemption to obtain a Spanish one from a centro de salud.

Do the cop's back pockets issue receipts? Sounds well dodgy about the cash thing.
