We were always aware that reaching 70 would be a problem re the weight of the van. Reluctantly, we decided that instead of jumping through numerous hoops, we’d downsize.
So tomorrow, goodbye to our beloved 2004 Autotrail Scout, and hello to a Hymer DuoMobil. What struck us while we were looking around for a lighter (and younger) van is how you’d struggle to find the build quality to match our ageing lady. Newer Autotrails just don’t come up to the mark - the attention to detail, the spec, the comfort.
So, let’s see if German build quality is good. Certainly she’s lighter and fleet of foot.
