I've had my sweet, happy, faithful little Beardie Nell put down this afternoon. She had given me 15 wonderful years of companionship and will be greatly missed.

Sending my thoughts and 3 years on nearly and I recall this moment vividly ! our gorgeous companions serve us so well x

So sad to read this, Bless her.

Sorry to hear this. The saddest but kindest part of loving a dog  x

Sad day I know it will be so hard for you.

Theres a space in the home that can never be filled...

Don’t Cry for Me. Don’t grieve too long, for now I’m free, I’ve followed the path, God set for me. I ran to him, when I heard him call, no more time for fetch, nor catch a ball. I could not stay, another day, to bark, to love, to romp or play. Games left unplayed, must stay that way, I found such peace, it made my day. My parting left you, with a void, please fill it with, remembered joy. A friendship shared, your bark, a kiss, oh yes, these things, I too shall miss. Be not burdened, with ties of sorrow, I wish you sunshine and joys of tomorrow. My life was full, you gave so much, your time, your love and gentle touch. Perhaps my time seemed, all too brief, don’t lengthen it now, with undue grief. Lift up your head and share with me, God needed me here and set me free.

So sorry to hear your sad news, Val.

They only live a short time compared to us humans but give us so much in those few years.
A very sad time but you will always cherish the memories.
Thinking of you Val. (y)

Richard.

Heartbreaking.

I will lend to you for awhile
a puppy, God said,
For you to love him while he lives
and to mourn for him when he is gone.
Maybe for twelve or fourteen years,
or maybe for two or three.
But will you, till I call him back
take care of him for me?

He’ll bring his charms to gladden you
and (should his stay be brief)
you’ll always have his memories
as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise that he will stay,
since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught below
I want this pup to learn.

I’ve looked the whole world over
in search of teachers true
And from the folk that crowd life’s land
I have chosen you.
Now will you give him all your love
Nor think the labour vain
Nor hate me when I come to take my pup back again.
I fancied that I heard them say

“Dear Lord Thy Will Be Done,”
For all the joys this pup will bring,
the risk of grief you’ll run.
Will you shelter him with tenderness
Will you love him while you may
And for the happiness you’ll know forever grateful stay.
But should I call him back
much sooner than you’ve planned
Please brave the bitter grief that comes
and try to understand.

If, by your love, you’ve managed
my wishes to achieve,
In memory of him that you’ve loved,
cherish every moment with your faithful bundle,
and know he loved you too.

Still my little dog ...sends me into tears

So sad for you that she has now gone, but she has left you with so much love that she gave you. Cherish it.

Do you want the telephone number for Blue Cross or would you rather wait a few days ?

We waited three months after losing our Border Collie - much too long .......

Sorry to hear this. Been through it so often myself but it doesn't get any easier Glad you still have two dogs. When our previous one went we left ourselves dogless for six months, a terrible time. Now have two, and I think two is so much better than one.
A chap I meet out on the downs sometimes has seven, I think that might be a bit much.
