Not been mentioned for a while
Just on a French campsite now with nothing better to do.
Solars packed up so I'm on hook up.
Had a polarity checker (and a made up reversing lead) - checked a 3 pin plug in the van 'L & E Reverse' - put the reversing lead on - 'CORRECT"
Now tell me it doesn't matter....
...and I've not been gassed yet

L&E were reversed?.. Nothing would work and the outer metal of things would be live! I think you'd need more than a polarity swapper

I'm keeping that. It'll be handy even if I never use it.
If your polarity is reversed, all the electricity will be sucked out of your MH and extract every last electron from your batteries. ;)

I think you are being very, very silly. Go and stand in the naughty corner. :emo:

1 whole year now
assuming 50 hertz as normal, polarity reverses 50 times a second. L and N reversed isn't reverse polarity.

Can I come out of the corner now. I've been here all night

Ok, but you must promise to be a good, or next time you will have to go and see the headmaster. :sneaky:

To be on the safe side, you must keep your wellies and rubber gloves on at all times.

Does that mean your fridge makes everything warm and the toaster freezes the bread?

Like I said I had nothing better to do ....but at the same time, same site when I went to connect the lead to what looked like a modern UK socket I lifted the flap to see a 'male' - (sorry Joy @movan ) earth prong sticking out.

Having brought my UK 3 pin mains lead I then needed a 'Continental' 2pin adaptor - which I had (smart ar$e me)

So I got connected with correct polarity...
